I was wondering if we could get a Towers Standard Board. Or if not, if people would like to post their Tower Standard Decks from back in the day...I think they could be easily denoted by: Subject Line: TS- "Deck Title" Anyways, here was one of my TS decks: Starting:Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir with The One Ring, Answer To All RiddlesFaramir, Captain of GondorRanger of IthilienFree Peoples (34):Mablung, Soldier of Gondor x3 Aragorn, King in Exile x3 Gondorian Ranger x2 Sam, Son of HamfastBounder x2 Sting, Baggins HeirloomSword of Gondor x4 Aragorn's BowFaramir's BowRanger's Bow x3 Ancient Roads x4 Boromir, My BrotherSwordsman of the Northern Kingdom x3 Arrows Thick in the Air x3 Shadow (34):Ugluk, Servant of Saruman x3 Mauhur, Patrol Leader x3 Uruk Chaser x4 Uruk Searcher x4 Uruk Scout x4 Uruk Plains Runner x4 Grima, Wormtongue x2 Weary x3 Many Riddles x2 What Did You Discover x2 Vengeance x3 Man, that deck was not very good. -wtk P.S., let me be the first person to welcome myself into the 800 post club.

I'll see if wlk wants to add it to GCCG. Maybe a forum if there's enough interest.

wlk has added TS to the GCCG server so it can now run deck checks at the start of a game. For now, the X-list is the Movie X-list (sans sets 7+) plus Filibert Bolger. If anyone knows a better X-list, please let us know!

Are ring-bearer skirmishes allowed to be canceled? I know it's in the current rules that it cannot, but at the time of towers standard rb skirmishes could...

I play the way the game is...so Ring-Bearers cannot cancel skirmishes. But I can appreciate that just being a house rule.
By the way, hoorah to the new board! -wtk

As I've said it before, I'll say it again: I like to play by original rules at the time of FotR and TT, and so does everyone I know on GCCG. So, allow cancel.
I need to track down an old CRD! PM me if you have one!

I don't see a problem with it, the rule was introduced because of reflections anyways.

You guys are right. Cancelling skirmishes with Ring-Bearers is just incredibly frustrating, I guess...but that's part of the game! -wtk

Well, at least, it was... Which made packing a Balrog in non-Moria decks not as useful as it would sound. Back in the days of FotR, I used to always reserve one card slot for the common Balrog in case I had nothing else at site 5. But 2x Hobbit Stealth kinda ruins it.

I think you need more healing. I suggest Might of Numenor or Athelas (very helpful to discard those little conditions).

You should try using worry, it works well with fierce uruk-hai. I know it would give a different twist to the deck but corruption-wise, it would be nice. Shadow only: Trackers do worry (31 cards) 4 x Ugluk, Servant of Saruman3 x Uruk Hunter3 x Uruk Follower2 x Lurtz, Servant of Isengard3 x Saruman, Servant of the Eye3 x Worry3 x Broad-bladed Sword4 x saruman's ambition4 x cruel caradhras2 x Saruman's Staff, Wizard's DeviceSince the main idea is to hit on the rb, weary and damage+1 cards on uruks are not important.

Seems okay, but I would never use Saruman's Staff, Wizard's Device. Instead, I would stack more trackers. Cruel Caradhras is a nice card with Worry, but it would probably be better to go full-on tracker with Worry....eventually, that Ring-Bearer will have to skirmish and he'll likely be exhausted. -wtk

I would totally love to play TS in a local tournament. It really is one of my favorite formats. A toss up with FOTR block, but great nonetheless!

If you only knew that they would play Aragorn, haha. Think of Can You Protect Me From Yourself. Or Too Great and Terrible. I would love to see that card more, especially with Gandalf being splashed so much.
