WHOOOOOHOOO!! Finally SOMEBODY!

Of course my friend I have always thought Boromir is the best. That's why I have an amazing IB - Killer Boromir deck I love to use!

Honestly, Boromir has always been my favorite character in the books and films alike. My rationale is that he is the most human of all of the characters, which I suppose makes sense when considering the fellowship was Boromir, a Maia, four Hobbits, an Elf, a half-Elf, and a Dwarf.

The idea of the Ring really taking grips on Boromir really fit with me because I believe that any human put into Boromir's position would likely attempt to take the Ring for him or herself...and probably try a lot sooner than Boromir. Boromir was a character of high morals and was resolute, which really expands the power of the Ring as well.

I tell you what...any human who says they would decline a shot at absolute power is a blatant liar. That, to me, makes Boromir the easiest character to identify with and thus the most interesting.

From Boromir's death, I found Eomer to step in as the most interesting character. He had no interactions with the Ring, but he was almost the same character as Boromir and I believe that if he was in the Fellowship instead of Boromir, he would have fallen as well.

Boromir's last act of heroism did indeed vindicate him and also showed the conscious of humanity.

That, my friend, is exactly what I think of him. He's human. Just like Bender, who is a robot, and he's actually the most human character of Futurama... wait, that would be the opposite... bah, nevermind  ;)

Anyway, after Boromir's death, the character I found most interesting after him was actually Faramir, both in movies and books.
EDIT: Kenddrick, just realized Kurt Cobain looks like a younger Boromir...

Faramir is probably my favorite character in both the books and movies because he is constantly... ridiculed for want of a better word by his father but keeps obeying him anyway.

Probably Sam and Faramir. Gimli is a favorite too. To be honest, it seems like every time I've read LotR in the past few years I get a new favorite character. :)

He's not the last, but what I think is good about LotR thatBoro's death really fits into the story, not like in Eragon, when Oromis and Glaedr both died... buhuhu.. they were my favorites and I don't think they had to die in case of the storyline, though.
But as many before said, Farmer Maggot ROCKS!
but Ghan-Buri-Ghan rocks even more!!!

Really!!? Where did you read that from?

It's really strange though, cuz Gimli's development started after meeting Galadriel, and well, after that he's useless, so it would'nt surprised me Tolkien would've killed him...

Yeah, I didn't take the time to actually find the real source. But if Wikipedia says it, it must be true.

Well you could quote wikipedia as a rumor.

Allthough I like boromir a lot to me he can´t be the most favourite, because he ain't the most important character. The most important character is the ring in which Sauron's essence is embodied. And everybody in the story can't resist (except for Faramir, who was cooler in the book then in the film; And Tom Bombadil, who wasn't even in the film) the ring so he's the most popoulair ;) And we can't resist the ring either otherwise we wouldn't play this fabulous game ;)

Definitely: Sauron is the most populair character.

Nah, mine are the mushrooms. Or Fang or Wolf.

EDIT: I meant the mushrooms in the book. Not the movie version. Those were not nearly as good.
