Right now I want to say... fake. But it might actually not be, considering the rise in power recently seen in creatures. However, 8 (there's a land that reduces his cost) seems awfully low for what it does.

Holy carp (yes, carp). I need 4. You need 4. You, there, who has stumbled on this Forum by accident looking for magic tricks on the internet and doesn't even play Magic, you, too, need 4. End discussion.

It's okay. I've already played a game with it, and it is simply ok. A game winner for sure, but no more than BSA for BSA junk. If it gets anymore support though, watch out. EDIT: I played this with Green Ramp and Blue Draw to get it out as fast as possible... turn 7 is my record. Too slow at the moment, though only barely. DOUBLE EDIT: Yes, it is real... http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/products.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/products/riseoftheeldrazi

This one is definitely one thing: overpowered.
You said turn 7, sharkey? Turn seven is unbelievably slow for just a creature. I mean, depending on the format, I can drop this guy on turn 2 or 3 for sure. Without any problems. Chance is 99,99%.
So, I just repeat what I've said before: O-V-E-R-P-O-W-E-R-E-D!

He makes for a better Tinker target than Darksteel Colossus, btw. Of course, Doom Blade DOES kill him, but still, if you cheated him into play you most likely have a way to take advantage of him. And if you actually cast him, he's well worth it. Pure card advantage any way you see it. And also, he makes for a fine addition to Extended's Hypergenesis.

You could elvish piper this guy in on turn 3 if u did it right. Or using eye of ugin and elves it could be turn 4/5 easy.
Im so going to abuse this man.

Ok, to clear some things up:
He dies to removal of any sort, including Day of Judgement and also the legendary rule (Clone!).
Tinker does not work on him. He is not an artifact.
If you use a card like elvish piper, you do not draw 4 cards.
He is good, but not WAY OVERPOWERED (unless your meta has all mill). He is currently balanced to not that good.

Who said something about Elvish Piper? I did not. I say Oath of Druids ftw! (OK, tyrant oath is still better, but in casual, you'll die against him!)

Summoning Trap also works well enough, albeit slow. I don't meant this guy is awesome because he draws cards, but mainly due to Anihilator 4. If you combo him out early, 1 swing means game.

The card advantage from this guy is just incredible: 9 for 1 if he attacks! That's what I like! So yeah, he dies to removal, but even if he's countered he draws 4 cards, so you've lost 1 card and gained 4 - and a good chance (barring Path) you get a free Reminisce, so you're up 4. More to the point, with the Eye of Ugin, you can fetch him with 7, and cast him for 8. Easy, simple and awesome!
I just am really wondering what the other Eldrazi are like.

Theres a VERY strong rumour, the source says he has an uncut preview foil sheet, that a card called eldrazi temple exists. Its a land that taps for 1 colourless or taps for 2 only if used on colourless eldrazi spells. If you can pull that AND eye of ugin, youre getting him much earlier. Ive bought 4 summoning traps as well as at the moment, without more eldrazi spoilers, im gonna run him in a green deck with crazy elf mana accel for turn 4 or 5 drop.
Im super pysched for this set. Been stocking up on eye of ugin but the price has got through the roof. Was a $3 card now a $15. Managed to get 2 at $4.99 a piece and i already traded for 1 gambling it would be good. I think i was right!

LMAO in open they could Tinker him out instead of Colossus! 4 permanents isn't a joke.
I've got an idea using Tolarian Acadmey and Affinity to get this fella out quick!

Can't tinker. Read the card. Or rather read what's NOT on the card.

Yes, you can no more tinker him out than tinker out a land (Barring artifact lands, I suppose).

That's what surpirised me; usually, there stands, that the spell is colorless or something like that, but it would be even more overpowered than it is now if it was an artifact....

Well I shall use Elvish Piper then.
Thats what my first thought was, but having never seen a piper stay on the table for more than a phase i doubt it will ever happen. Ive invested in 4 summoning trap for that reason.
