PC Setup Meetings
« on: April 06, 2010, 05:34:48 PM »
Greetings!

In order to quicken progress of establishing a PC, I would like to organize regular "chat" meetings in the TLHH chat room.  I've taken a first guess at a time to meet, we can change it to work better for those that want to actively participate.  Those interested in setting up a PC are free to join in.  If you are not interested in a PC, feel free to ignore this.  I would like to use this forum topic to keep track of a summary of what was discussed, so we all know who is doing what.  Thank you.

PC Meeting
Where: "The Beginning" chat channel
When:  ?

Update: I've had several people interested in participating contact me saying that the time I originally picked won't work for them, so rather than me just picking a random time, if anyone interested would instead post what time work for them, we can have the most people participate.  Thanks!

I don't think I can make the chats because I work till 7 or 8 usually MST each day.  I'll post when I can, but I want in on helping.  I've posted my thoughts on the formation of a PC, but I think we really need to talk to Decipher first and get it cleared through them before actually opening the PC doors all the way.  If we do it without their permission and make them mad, we will not be able to start again.

Yeah I'm running on essentially GMT as well. I can do pretty much any time I have to for the next few weeks, except for Saturdays when I tend to be otherwise engaged. After the next few weeks, unfortunately, my time will be more constrained, so I'd love to get this going as soon as possible.

Might be an idea to mail everyone who is inclined about date and time? I concur with CG1G.C.

@ all

Wouldn't it be smart to do the regular sessions one a week on the same day on friday. For the most of us it would mean that we can stay up late for this meeting and that work won't suffer by it. It will mean though that I won't participate once in the 3 weeks, because of lotr tcg with friends (we usually had our lotr-evening on tuesday, allthough that will still remain we decided that we will have an aditional friday-evening once in the 3 weeks is needed so that another 3 friends of us can join, while they have difficulties on tuesday).

Agree that the interest is low at the moment.

Add to that:
Organising an international community across different time zones, all with different agendas, using message boards, without a strong leader, and with opposition is not easy.

With so much standing in the way perhaps it is best to wait it out and do nothing at the moment. All the negative debate and criticism currently on these message boards does no good for the game as it stands, for the small community that remains and for the future of the game whatever that may be. If anyone new comes along, they are capable of reading what is already posted here. There really is no need to continually rehash the same information.

All that said, I am happy to discuss the PC via PM or chat. I am sure there are others that are willing to do the same.
