Is Grond, Hammer of The Underworld the only way to discard Free People's artifacts in movie block?

(Mainly want to ditch Gandalf's Staff without using Sauron).

Options are very thin there.  All I can think of is to get a couple Shadow cards on him and return Gandalf's Staff to hand with Grima, Wormtongue.  Yeah... not much.

Well, I think that Ravage the Defeated is the only other card that can potentially discard Gandalf's Staff, but you can use Isengard Smith, Stricken Dumb or Ulaire Cantea, Lieutenant of Dol Guldur to discard Aiglos, Narsil or Anduril.

If Dunland is not your choice of shadow, and packing Ravage the Defeated just for the sake of Gandalf's Staff is not worthy, I suggest another course of action: prevent Gandalf from using the staff. Desert Lord should be just fine and if you're running a nazgul deck, TGAT is the way to go.

Artifacts should never be discarded.  Nuff said.   



Ironically that Ulaire Cantea thing came up in a game with gagnut today.  I refused to take advantage of it, for the exact reason as stated above.  I wuv artifacts too much to consign their beautiful golden shinyness to the discard pile.
