[ALIVE AND KICKING] GCCG Test Server
« on: January 18, 2011, 04:23:41 PM »
It's here, it's here! ;D

A new server is up, and it has all of your old data. It's not official yet, because even though I've paid for the hosting, time will tell as to how reliable it is. Therefore:

 Save your games often.

Feel free to play games and see if you can crash the puppy! I mean, if it's going to crash, I want to know it now!

Windows Users:

Run Update Everything.bat

Mac/Linux

Run ./gccg_package update

Good luck!

Kralik: Do you know how to hide the ".gccg" folder on a Mac? I remembered how to "unhide" it but don't remember how to "hide" it back in the right place.

Otherwise, I am ready to go!

No clue. Usually .folders are hidden by default, and it should be in your user's home directory.

AND TO ALL OF THE REST OF YOU, I SAY...

A little heads up for those who might need a easy way to open the batch file. Open notepad first then drag and drop lotr. into it. Copy and paste the new text and your in.

It's not working for me. I still go to the old server even after changing the line.
It acts like some bin file wasn't remade after I changed the line? Is that possible?
I am running on Linux.

Ahh...  It seems to me that the .bat files are not used in linux. They have all sorts of windows stuff in them. Does anyone know where the server is defined in linux?

Try adding --server gccg.lotrtcgwiki.com to the command prompt. Or are you running the LotR file by clicking on the icon? If so, you could also edit that file with a text editor and do the same (add it before lotr.xml).

So some people told me that there was an old bug called, "Buying certain cards crashes the entire server!" Please let me know which cards these are so I can fix them. I've already fixed a couple by hand, and I'm seeing if wlk has any ideas on better ways to do it than I do.
