I know Haszor posted the Eomer thing. So here's my question. Who is better Aragorn HoE or Aragorn RotN?

It depends. If you actually want him to fight and be consistently def+1, HoE is probably a better choice. If you just want a splash companion to save you for a site or two, RotN kicks butt.

Which format? Not that it changes what has already been said, cause that is a good comment, I just want to know. Personally, I like HoE better, but RotN is a stupendous companion. Having said that, i would ask are you using swordarm of the white tower? If you are, then HoE is a better choice since you would not have to exert him in order to get the +4 bonus. However, as mentioned, the ability to make aragorn def +3 in a pinch is sooo cool. Not to mention useful.

my rule of thumb: if he is part of the strategy, HoE. if he is splash, RotN.
because, if you want to throw a bow on him, he'll need to exert for the wounds, and won't be able to use the defender. and usually, the consistent def+1 is helpful against swarm. but as far as frequency, i probably have used RotN more times as a splash save my butt from a swarm card, than i have used HoE.

In that case I'd use RoTN unless you're running some sort of choke. But it's really up to you in the end

MM has a really good point. The only reason to use HoE is for a specific strategy (like Swordarm of the white tower or something) RotN is a great splash card. The only other reason to choose RotN is for his ranger keyword. and dare I say, in the end, it boils down to preference. The 2 cards are so close to the same that it ALMOST doesn't matter which one you choose. However, RotN sees way more game time due to his versatility. RotN is probably your best choice. Use 0P14, he's better than RotN!

I know aragorn is an invented persona created by tolkien, but he makes me like the idea of camping.

you know, he's a ranger so he camps a lot. Normally I'm not a camping kind of guy (My idea of fun isn't sleeping on the ground outside, that's why I bought a sleep number bed). However, reading about characters like aragorn, beren, and turin, makes me realize it isn't that bad. Simplicity is nice you know, living off the land, making shelters out of debris, killing orcs, that's the life.

HUA! sleep number, oh yeah! I highly recommend them!
PS-no offense to anyone who likes camping. It isn't all that bad, I just got my fill of it while I was a boy scout.
