I recently went to BSA summer camp for a week. I brought my deck, and ended up playing several games with one of the counselors who had brought at least a half-dozen decks as well as a lot of spare cards. He spent the whole week trying to persuade me to trade my Vampire Nocturnus, and offered me a /artifact deck as well as several artifact rares and uncommons. I really didn't know the value of Nocturnus, but I figured it was worth it, and went ahead. He seemed pretty happy, and someone just told me Vampire Nocturnus is worth $12, so I want to know if I got ripped off. Here's what I traded for:

Artifact Creatures:
x4 Memnite
x4 Yotian Soldier
x3 Signal Pest
x3 Steel Overseer
x1 Myr Adapter
x1 Vault Skirge
x1 Spidersilk Net

Artifacts:
x1 Whispersilk Cloak
x3 Kitesail
x1 Welding Jar
x1 Shriekhorn
x2 Lashwrithe

Creatures:
x4 Skinrender
x1 Undead Warchief
x1 Phylactery Lich
x1 Slith Bloodletter
x1 Big Game Hunter
x1 Painsmith
x1 Reassembling Skeleton
x1 Gravedigger (FOIL)

Instants:
x4 Doom Blade

Lands:
x20 Swamp

Extra cards:
x2 Bonehoard
x2 Silverskin Armor
x1 Pentavus
x1 Loxodon Warhammer
x1 Phyrexian Revoker
x1 Golem Artisan
x1 Chimeric Coils
x1 Strata Scythe

EDIT: He almost tossed in a Sword of Feast and Famine. Should I have held out for it?

Definitely should, the sword is awesome.l THat being said, Vampire Nocturnus is not seeing a lot of play, and will rotate out of Standard in October, so I guess the trade went fine, you got some cool cards for the upcoming season, as well as some value, like Doom Blade, Skinrender and the 2 Bonehoards. I don't think you actually did get ripped off, though Nocturnus is a mythic if I remember correctly, and, as such, less printed, so it might get harder to find one a few years from now. That being said, he won't be played outside of Standard anyway, and a singleton won't do a lot for a deck. Casual decks aside, I'd much rather have a singleton Loxodon Warhammer and Pentavus.

Thanks Felipe, I was a little worried. The new deck's fun to play with, and since I don't have anywhere near enough cards or money to build a 'serious' deck, the new deck works great. Thumbs Up

Drop in on GCCG for some matches! Playing sealed there is a blast. Kind of a messed up shuffler for boosters, but still fun.

It rotated out of standard a long time ago actually, it was in m10.

Wow, thanks for pointing that out, I thought he was in M11 as well. So, most of his value is due to being a mythic, and so, less printed. Otherwise, he's not that good anymore, outside of standard Vampires is not a real deck in other formats, only for casual play, and as I said, casually speaking, give me the Loxodon Warhammer as a singleton any day.
