The thing is about "assigned to skirmish" situation

For example, Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver game text states "Skirmish: If Pippin is not assigned to a skirmish, return him to your hand to wound a roaming minion twice. "

Let's say there are three companions and Pippin, each of them are skirmishing a minion. Pippin fighting first, using his amazing combat skills, killed his opponent. Now, another companion is skirmishing a roaming, vitality 2 minion. Can Pippin's skirmish ability be used to wound (and in effect kill) the minion ? Or is he still concerned as being assigned ? The thing is Skirmish phase is after the Assignment, so is Pippin "assigned" till all the normal (not fierce) skirmishes are resolved or after he kills "his" minion he is no longer being assigned ?

Sorry for my bad english Smiley

A character is no longer assigned once that character's skirmish resolves.  Even if Pippin didn't kill his opponent, once the skirmish is resolved, he is no longer assigned, and then you can use his ability.
