Although I still haven't made up my mind on the Tatooine culture's icon (nor have I created a Creature template or sites), I'd like to show off where my creative energies have been spent these last few days.

That there is the Alliance side of the Fringe culture. And below is an example of the Shadow side. I deliberately made their color schemes a bit wonky - it's not so easy to distinguish between sides, unlike the Gollum culture. It's probably ultimately a design mistake (for beginners), but singe this culture is about ruffians and scoundrels and striding the grey line between good and bad, I didn't want either cultural side to scream I'M GOOD or I'M BAD. Also, I'd like to note that the Alliance side of this culture wound up resembling the Dwarven culture purely by coincidence. I used Han's outfit as a basis, and it's just the way things worked out lol.

I think this is my favorite color scheme of them all. It just reeks of Imperial precision. Mind you that this is an example of an artifact, so that isn't the normal coloration for the culture icon!

Ditto for this guy, a blank follower template for the Jedi culture. I went into this one expecting to use mostly browns, but since I'd used browns to death already for Fringe, I wasn't too sure what to do. But once I had the culture icon made, I decided to just continue drawing from Obi-Wan's lightsaber and go completely blue. It looks fantastic, I think.

One major drawback of being an unofficial card designer is that I don't have access to crisp movie stills with which to populate my blank templates. I'll end up downloading an HD version of the trilogy and hand-pick images on my own, but for now I'm just pouring into what I can find on google. Anywho, this is the Rebellion culture, and it also surprised me to end up with predominantly purple. It doesn't quite look right for the rebels, but I reckon it'll grow on me. EDIT: Brightened the coloration quite a bit, while darkening the culture icon.

Aaaand here's the Sith template. Not really much to say here except I followed my own lead and took color inspiration from Vader's lightsaber, throwing out some errant reds to help make the card pop.

Hopefully I'll get a great idea for Tatooine in the next day or two... it's killing me to not have anything to show for it.

For Tattoine, maybe a setting sun, so a half circle with a smaller one in the background. If not that, then maybe Jabba or a Jawa.

For the Jedi, a hooded face, but not Sith looking?

The Sith symbol  is actually more than just any old sith symbol. It is the symbol of Naga Sadow's house. He was a very powerful sith sorcerer. Very important in the development of the Sith order

I picked it solely for its resemblance to the Wraith symbol  Grin

The Jedi symbol could be a lightsaber, I think. Surely, it's more iconic to the Jedi than the Sith? I think the association would be fairly simple. Either that or a Yoda. Tongue

The problem with using Yoda is that he doesn't exist yet in my pretend-chronology. I'm designing sets as if the movies are only now releasing, in order to help deliver that creative naivety. I'll look into using a lightsaber, but I can already say that it'll be tough to pull off.

Still not sure what to do about the Tatooine culture. I can't use Jabba or, say, a Jawa (even though I tried both) because there's an Alliance side to the culture as well.

How about a sand helmet complete with goggles, something resembling the new Uruk culture?

Here are few different takes on the same idea. I merely wove together two iterations of the letter 'T' from the Aurebesh (Star Wars alphabet), symbolizing Tatoo One and Tatoo Two, the binary stars orbited by Tatooine.

Let me know if you favor one more than another, or if they're all rubbish. Personally I like the 3rd one the best.

Good idea. I like #3 best.

I think that's a cool idea. #2 is best. When their made into silhouettes 1 and 3 will no longer look like two 't's at all, but I think 2 still will.

I'd also associate a lightsaber (if even just the handle) with Jedi. Other ideas are a star reminiscent of the current Jedi Order symbol (or just think Gondor), and a 2D/3D design reminiscent of the Jedi holocrons.

For the Tatooine icons, I think I'd prefer the "complete" form of #3. I'd be tempted to trim the bits sticking out in #1, and #2 looks odd to me with the 'T' arms not quite meeting.

Well you win the cake for inspiring me to combine both the elements of the Jedi Order symbol (an image I had already discarded) and a lightsaber hilt (Obi-Wan's, no less!).

It's kind of hard to make out there but it'll look better once it's stuck onto a card template!

I'm still not very convinced about the Tatooine culture icon. None of them really match up in quality to the others I've designed... hmmm...

Argh seeing as I couldn't log in I wasn't able to post earlier.

But I think the NOJ symbol is way awesomer for the jedi culture!
