Title: Other Lord of the Rings Card Games
Post by: ket_the_jet on October 29, 2018, 10:14:09 AM
Hello friends,

I have decided to add a board for reflection on the Middle Earth Collectible Card Game (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle-earth_Collectible_Card_Game) and Fantasy Flight's Living Card Game (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-card-game/).

I know a few folks here have played these games and others and some people might want to learn more about them. If sub-boards like deck design sections are necessary, please feel free to send me a private message. I am happy to oblige if there is considerable growth here.

Best,
-wtk

Nice name for the board ;D

I have cards for MECCG but have never been able to wrap my head around the rules. I'd be interested to know people's thoughts on the game.

I played LCG up until Voice of Isengard/The Black Riders, but I disliked the constant encounter deck power creep that was happening, so didn't progress much beyond that. Also curious to know what others think.

I think my brother owns a copy of the base set to the LCG and we played it like once. I remember I quite disliked the game but I probably have to try it again at some point in time.

For Middle-earth CCG, I only know it's getting on my nerves when I'm crawling threw ebay to find LotR TCG :P

I've heard MECCG is really good, but that's only hearsay.

You could look for older threads like this one (http://lotrtcgwiki.com/forums/index.php/topic,5359.0.html) and move them here, to get some things going.
