Title: New Zealand
Post by: ket_the_jet on September 09, 2019, 08:35:36 AM
I know a lot of our old friends aren't around to read this, but I recently took a trip to New Zealand and visited both the Hobbiton set as well as the Weta studios in Wellington. I can post a few pictures down the road, but all I can say is that New Zealand is an absolutely beautiful country and I encourage everyone to go visit, whether they intend to do the LotR tours or not!

OOf that is a dream vacation for me.  Honestly would love to live there as well, but alas not to be.

My partner and I are legitimately trying to move there. We rented a car and toured the North Island only (we were there for a week in total) spending nights on Waiheke Island (2), Napier (1), Wellington (2), and Taupo (1).

Looks like my file photos are too large for attachments. I don't really want to host them somewhere else, so let me see if I can privately share them otherwise on these forums.

I lived in New Zealand for years, and I still miss it! Truly unparalleled beauty. Largely because the South Island (for example) has remained untouched by humanity more than other countries. Kiwis are strong environmentalists.
