Title: Unresistable Uruk-hai
Post by: Haszor on June 09, 2011, 03:35:49 PM
Trying to get more activity in this part of the forum.
Freeps (36)
 Frodo, Protected by Many -
1x Faramir, Dunadan of Gondor (Start)
 1x Aragorn, Strider (Start)
1x Boromir, Defender of Minas Tirith
4x Gandalf, Leader of the Company
 1x Glamdring, Foe-Hammer
 1x Gandalf's Staff, Ash Staff
 1x Sting, Weapon of Heritage
 3x Gondorian Blade
 3x Bow of Minas Tirith
 3x Armor of the Citadel
 3x Watch and Wait
 4x G for Grand
 2x New Authority
 2x Introspection
 3x Mysterious Wizard
 3x Rally the Company

Shadow (36)
 4x Our Foes Are Weak
 3x Crushing Uruk
 3x Berserker Torch
 3x Uruk-hai Troop
 3x Vigilant Uruk
 3x Uruk Zealot
 3x Uruk Dominator
 3x Shingle in a Storm
 3x Tempest of War
 2x Uruk Decimator
 2x Uruk-hai Guard
 2x Furious Uruk
 2x Army of Uruk-hai

The Prancing Pony
Slag Mounds
City of Kings
Fortress of Orthanc
Courtyard Parapet
Osgiliath Reclaimed
Rohan Uplands
Helms Gate
Heights of Isengard

General idea here is to tank up the free side as much as possible and use the [Gandalf] cards to remove burdens and keep my comps at 6 resistance.  Faramir is nice because of the exertions Frodo is going to be using, eg. Sting, and his text.  As for the Shadow side all you do is get as many conditions on their companions as possible then use the minions, and their buffs from low resistance, to tear the free side in two.

I've never really played with the Uruks post Movie Block.
I may have to try this shadow side out.

I would try to fit in Invincible Uruk and Weapon of Opportunity somewhere.

And huge props for designing a deck with Faramir, Dunadan of Gondor.

I'd drop one rally the company and fill up on gandalf. Cool freeps :)

Awful, AWFUL picture, though. I think you might have hit a gem here, Haszor, seems pretty reasonable.

Strange Device on the shadow to cycle better.

Ok good idea, done.

Not sure of the huge advantage of having Weapon of Opportunity or Invincible Uruk, as WotR doesn't really have any archery which is the only application I can see unless I'm trying to keep them from double moving.

Small difficulty is I try to run a lot of minions as my usual problem is running out of them around site 9, so if I'm adding minion cards I would prefer them to be minions.  Also I don't like large decks and this one is certainly qualified.

Also wondering whether I should drop introspection for Pallando, Far-travelling One

Strange Device or Weapon of Opportunity... its a toss up between the two.

In WotR, Invincible Uruk is more about stopping power than killing power. I have a Gollum, Keeper of the Invincible Uruk deck which I quite enjoy.
