Yes, we did... Ouch, ouch, ouch...

Yep :( I so hated southron commander... There should have been a gondar card named hate especially for southron.

I never had a big problem with Southron Commander. I avoided playing a sixth companion until I had Sting, Baggins Heirloom on Frodo. Between that and the One Ring, Answer to All Riddles I would survive being overwhelmed, but I also tried to make sure I packed one skirmish event in a lot of decks that way I could survive.

Your deck is missing some KEY cards. Here they are:
*AT LEAST* 2x Mablung, Soldier of Gondor
1x Ranger's Bow
4x War and Valor

What can I say about Mablung, SOG? He will take down Sauron, WK, Shelob... any of them with two exertions. He *IS* your guy. You could add 3x or 4x to get him fast and keep him healed. I played him with some citadel of minas tirith and denethor, lomt so i could get him fast AND keep him healed, but since your playing TTT block, you could use 3x with no problems

Yeah, in my experience, Mablung is one of the main strengths of Ring-bound rangers (indeed, he's one of my favorite cards in the game), as he can, with 2 exertions, take down any roaming minion. Unless there are no strong minions in your meta (e.g. all swarm/medium-sized beatdown) there's no real reason for a RBR deck not to have him.

And, yeah, go with War and Valor over the token-spotting events. Since you have no [Elven] or [Rohan] cards, you're never going to get more than strength +2 out of Trust/ Mortal Men, but War and Valor will give you that and usually an additional point of strength and damage (a good RBR deck will keep the minions roaming most of the time).

I just want to bring up that Garrison of Gondor posted this in October...of 2008.

Too bad he's not here to get these great suggestions and thoughts on this deck!

Why wouldn't he be here?
Do not take dragons lightly.  They are heavier than you think.
