Lifelink...is it flanking?
« on: October 22, 2008, 12:05:00 PM »
Okay, so I've got this question. One of the cards released in Planar Chaos, I think, said that each creature with flanking has flanking. And they triggered separately. My question is on lifelink. Like, giving Knight of Meadowgrain a Loxodon Warhammer.

Or, perhaps more powerfully, running a Mirrorweave deck with Windbrisk Raptor.

Well, I'm pretty sure in the italic explanation of Flanking, it straight out says each instance of Flanking occurs separately. Which is why it can stack like that. Lifelink has no such text. I think.

No. Flanking had that reminder text because, up until then, it was not possible for a card to get Flanking twice. Flankign is a triggered ability, and as such, each instance of flanking triggers separately. Same goes for lifelink. If a card has lifelink more than once, yes, it WILL trigger more than once. So go ahead, equipe Knight of Meadowgrain and smash in for a 15-point swing, they'll lose 5 and you'll gain 10.

If you drop as many of ONE of those, chances are you're playing control, so you probably survived the early beats, and you're gonna win anyway.

Um...how about Mirrorweaving a Windbrisk Raptor? Dude...that's just WAITING to be broken.

Anyplace I can see the official rules on that to convince hesitant players when I slam then with a half dozen Windbrisk Raptors for 180+ life?
