This can cancel a skirmish involving Sam at site 9 and them Sam can use Bane of the Eight Legs to be nearly unstoppable. However, with a small edit you will have a very good card.

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely see the ring-tossing concern - although help me understand how BotEL comes into play? It only works after a fierce skirmish, so what would be the issue with discarding a minion after a fierce skirmish at site 9?

I seldom play anything past set 7, and don't know any cards beyond set 10, so I certainly appreciate the insight from the more eagle-eyed members here.

I guess it doesn't as I misunderstood the card (I play physically) as discarding the minion before overwhelming/wounds take place. It seems that it would only apply to trying to move twice. But it could certainly prevent a Return to Its Master skirmish from being done at all.

Only if the skirmish that triggered it was a fierce one.  "Fierce skirmish" specifically means the second skirmish of a fierce minion, not the first.
