The Player's Council Virtual Meet'n'Greet & Casual Raffle Tournament

Greetings! You may or may not know, but some time ago there were murmurings (and a survey!) on the Facebook group about (re?)forming a player's committee to help steer the game in a promising direction, and some of us decided to form up and make that dream a reality.

We are the Player's Council! As our first major community-facing action, we would like to invite you to a Virtual Meet'n'Greet hosted on our Discord server on Saturday, July 11th. We'd like to introduce ourselves and give an overview of the plans and vision that we have for the LotR-TCG.

But more importantly, we'd like to host a casual raffle tournament! What we mean by this is, we will be holding a raffle for a few small prizes such as groups of foil cards donated by members of the Council. Come by the Discord server on July 11 during the event hours and say hello to earn one ticket for the raffle. You can then earn more raffle tickets by playing a game on Gemp in any format and posting the replay link in Discord -- one ticket per game played! Play more games during the event, earn more chances at the prize!

We will be starting the day with 1 prize available, but if 10 people enter the raffle we will have 2 prizes, and in the event that 25 people show up we will throw a third prize on the line, meaning 2 or 3 drawings from all entries.

Never! played on Gemp before? Don't worry! We will be live-streaming a Gemp tutorial and Q&A at two different times during the event, so you can tune in and finally take the leap! We will also be streaming ongoing games as spectators, giving you a chance to get used to the interface with experienced users at hand to answer your questions.

As I hope you haven't forgotten, this Saturday, July 11, is the Casual Raffle Tourney being ran by the Player's Council!  That's about 4 days and change from the time of this post.

Here are the details of our agenda:

To reiterate what we're doing:  From 10 AM CST (1500 UTC) until 4 PM CST (2100 UTC) we will be issuing raffle tickets for up to 3 sets of foil card prizes. To get 1 ticket, simply join the Player's Council's Discord server (https://discord.gg/mmyYfJ7) and say hi during the event.  

To get more tickets, go play games on Gemp and post the replays on Discord!  Each game that you play and link (in any format!) will get you 1 additional ticket, with no limit to the number of games that you can play and submit.  

Highlights of the event:

• Tune in at 10 AM CST (1500 UTC) sharp for a presentation by the Player's Council regarding what our plans for the future are
  
• POWER HOUR 12 PM - 1 PM CST (1700 - 1800 UTC): each game you play and submit during this time counts double and earns you 2 tickets instead of 1!
• Haven't ever used Gemp?  Join us at 10:30 AM or 2 PM CST (1530 or 1900 UTC) for a live stream tutorial where we will show you the ropes of card browsing, deck creation, navigation, and playing matches within Gemp.  Bring your questions and we'll answer 'em live!

The event has concluded!  Thank you to all who participated in the casual tourney.  If you played between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM CST, don't forget to fill out the registration form for 1 raffle ticket and post your replays from that time window for 1 ticket per replay.

The submission window will be open for 24 hours from the event close, after which we will host a drawing for the three prizes (and stream it on the Facebook group).
