Shifting Domain
« on: February 09, 2009, 12:50:07 PM »
I was looking at the MTG website today looking at the article about Barry's Land and how it went from a 6th domain land to a spellbook land. And it just made me think, so I've thought of my first MTG dream card! :)

Shifting Domain
Land
Shifting Domain is all basic land types at all times.
When you play Shifting Domain, sacrifice it unless you pay [3].

I wasn't sure how to balance it. My main issue with this was that domain on turn 1 seems obscene. So I was thinking that domain on turn 3 didn't seem so bad. But what do you guys think?

I was also thinking, to be even crazier, that, seeing as it has essentially changeling for lands, maybe it could be "Tribal Land - Shapeshifter", but I thought that might be too crazy. 8-)

I think Tribal Lands are fine, however, it's way too broken. Can you imagine Domain Zoo with a SINGLE fetchland having THIS? Ouch!

I've thought about this card again, and I now think it is balanced, after all.
