Orc Corruption
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:48:13 AM »
I like corruption. Problem is, I am not very good at corruption decks for some reason. So here is my attempt. Please tear apart.

4x Goblin Hordes (11R123)
2x Unforgiving Depths (13C120)
3x Abiding Evil (12R81)
4x Bound to its Fate (11U110)
2x Massing Strength (13C111)
2x *Orc Crusher (13R112)
3x Isengard Underling (11C125)
3x Mocking Goblin (11C127)
2x Morgul Tormentor (12U90)
3x Orc Miscreant (11C131)
3x Porter Troll (11R135)
3x Watchful Orc (11R143)

So Goblin Hordes and Watchful Orc/Unforgiving Depths to recur all the minions you need, and Isengard Underling for Bound to its Fate. Massing Strength to make sure Orc Miscreant makes it through for some burdens.

no, no... I miss there a certain card... what was it again... Retribution!!!

Porter Troll and bound to its fate is great... so, we just need a hand weapon... like Mordor Scimitar  or Orc spear...

and I guess even that is far to less to have a competitive corruption engine... let me think about it...

Mithrandir I am known to the Elves, Tharkun to the dwarves; Olorin was the name in my youth in the West which is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; into the East I will not go."

Yeah that was going to be my suggestion, but be warned.. your opponent may quit upon sight of that combo.  Its just wrong.

I have considered Relentless Warg, but I am likely to actually own 3/4 Relentless Warg?

Any warg with a +2 to vitality works for the miscreant.  dealing damage in the skirmish is not the main point.

Yeah, seems to me like Retribution + Scavenging Goblins + Mordor Scimitar looks like solid burden-adding (Scimitar on Mocking Goblin looks good). I wouldn't run the Miscreant, I don't think (not without the Wargs) nor the Morgul Tormentors - I've used them in decks before and I don't rate them very highly (the [2] cost guys that do the same thing are straight better I think, on the basis that they serve an identical purpose but cost [1] less). And surely you need 4 Isengard Underlings! You want to play Bound to Its Fate 4+ times reliably so you surely need 4 of each of the combo parts.

Also, I'd suggest pairing it with a site path controlling FP side (like Traveled Leader, in expanded Speak Friend And Enter) to take the pressure of the Orcs to control the adventure path and focus more on corruption.

... a good corruption deck have to add AT LEAST 12 burdens... otherwise it would not be reliable... please do not forget that...

Frodo or Galadriel may even get more than 12 resistance...

the Gondor Ringbearer get with the ring of rings and scroll of Isildur also 11 resistance... Gimli may also get that level... only Gandalf is easy to corrupt... sometimes it would be enoug to play just nothing...

... yeah... and Retribution with Mordor Scimitar and Porter trolll is just cool!

...about the wargs: rentless warg gives you strength... your orc should not use and get a lot of damage that he won't be able to add burdens... that was my idea to use rentless warg... it is the strength...

@TheJord: if you only have 3/4 rentless wargs... they won't be useful at all.... so I would suggest just give them to me...  :hey:

The best combo you can have for corruption is...

Orc Miscreant + Mordor Scimitar + Riders Armor + Vicious Warg + Retribution
Isengard Underling + Bound To its Fate

All in play at the same time

Not the easiest? What is not easy about it. Just spot 2 minions and play that piece of furniture! Than see how the game is developing. If your fellowship is doing good and you're not near corrupting your opponent, just wait with Mount Doom. With your site manipulation, you can keep Mount Doom in hand and play it whenever you need it!
I like your evil Orc Miscreant GoG, that is nice....haha

wow thats crazy.  6 burdens most likely, if they do have the events to counter 2 bound to its fate.

I have a deck that is a hybrid between corruption and wounding and it works very nice.

You have those vit +2 wargs with Orc Miscreant, Scouting Orc and That vit 4 orc that exerts at regroup to make the freeps wound someone. Then you add Isengard Underling, Bound to It's Fate, Orc Scimitar and Retribution. Put some Abdiing Evil to crush your opponents and be sure to have some freep site manipulation to Neeker Breaker's them all as many times as you can

thats why i hate the new shadow cultures, i think they do things they never should have been able to do. even when i play standard i almost ALWAYS use shadows which are based in king block. besiegers, nazgul, raiders...
