Yeah, I agree about aragorn. The reason I chose
prince of mirkwood, is that once his knives are on him, he gains a strength bonus against the three major minion groups; Nazgul, Orcs, and Uruks.
Aragorn's Bow will provide the directed archery I need. As you can see, there are no elf or dwarf skirmish events. I needed all the strength bonuses I could get. My theory was to pit the weaker minions against legolas and gimli, then use the text of their weapons to wound the stronger minions aragorn couldn't finish off. It seems to work okay, but I've only played it once or twice.
I have learned that by moving first, there is no reason to try and boost the move limit. The pains I went through to pull off a triple move cost me aragorn and Legolas. On the flip side however, I managed to reach site 9 with only gimli and frodo. I lost becuse Frodo was corrupted. My opponent played an uruk corruption deck, had I bid less to begin, say 2, I would have survived. Aside from that, my fellowship performed very well.
