Ring Bound Hobbits
« on: June 11, 2009, 05:14:05 PM »
This deck is more of a fun/casual deck but it also happens to be Shadows block so I thought id post it here

Sam, Bearer of Great Need
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings

Bilbo, Aged Ring-Bearer (starting)
Frodo, Frenzied Fighter (starting)
Rosie Cotton, Barmaid

3x Hobbit Sword
1x Sting, WoH
2x Salt from the Shire
1x Mithril-Coat, Dwarf-Mail

2x Sudden Fury
2x Long Live the Halflings
4x A Promise
2x Simple Living

3x Crouched Down
3x Sworn Companion

2x The Gaffer, MG
2x Daddy Twofoot, Next-Door Neighbor
2x Frodo Gamgee, SoS

Total 32
Basically it is small fellowship choke with double moving made possible by sam's ability to discard minions. Sam can get pretty sstrong with the followers and A Promise and the other companions can use crouched down, which is nice because even if they are fight 2-3 minions it still works as long as one of the minions is small. There is no direct wounding or condition discard for hobbits in shadows block, but like I said its more of a fun deck than anything.
Please let me know what you think and maybe what shadow to pair it with from shadows block.

you need better burden removal for your followers, maybe the more the merrier or hope is kindled

I also don't see Crouched Down working very well since you will be adding burdens frequently.  I would recommend going with 4 copies of Sudden Fury.

The more the Merrier makes alot of sense. Simple living could be used to negate the toil exertions  think. Correct me if that's wrong.

I liked how Crouched Down can be good against swarm because if there's a 5 strength minion and a 10 strength minion fighting Bilbo I can still cancel the skirmish. I also like having skirmish canceling to avoid cards like Whistling Death.

I agree with fitting in more copies of Sudden Fury, the Hobbits do lose a lot of skirmishes.

How are you going to get more than one minion on a hobbit without defender + 1?
Beregond,  for the people who don't know, is from the book.
He resides in Minas Tirith, and chills with Pippin.

3 companions, if they play 4 minions someone is fighting 2 minions.
