Couldn't you use 4x Frenzy of Arrows to kill in archery. But I do not know how you could draw that first hand.
Beregond,  for the people who don't know, is from the book.
He resides in Minas Tirith, and chills with Pippin.

Back in the day, 1 Frenzy Of Arrows would kill the horn deck. But it got errata, leaving Horn deck as the most powerful deck in standard. In open? Its still really powerful.

Give Anduin Confluence the errata to have it discard all followers from play! ;D

And remember, it isn't the fellowship that is strong, it is the filtered deck and thus all the shadowcards remaining that makes this deck ridiculously strong. So burn your hobbit, grab 3 times Shadowplay and you're good to go ;)....almost.

all that needs to happen to fix the horn deck is make new chapter heal a shire companion instead of any companion

How about this

Mumak Rider x2
Bill Ferny, AoS
Mauhur
Some pumps

Discard the horns and assign the Hobbits, make sure Swordthain dies and they cant come back.

So instead, they load up all the followers on Frodo every turn! Yeah!

Sure ya take down the Horn, but having a ton of followers that can attach to a companion- pretty nifty combination.

I'm trying to remember if you play the starting fellowship first and then bid, or vice versa...if you play the starting fellowship first, all ya gotta do is bid higher and have some way to control the sitepath for a few sites, if you can do that, Horn's toast.

Of course, in Open, if the Horn combo ever can go off, the Fiend combo goes off next turn....so....

Or better yet (IMHO), make the horn take a follower into hand instead of play a follower. Still powerful, but limited to 4 per turn.

That's odd, I never read the first part of that cards text, my brain always skipped over it.

Hahaha....cool! Do you know the Horndeck? Not making fun of you, absolutely not, but it such a notorious deck. Point is to get that horn with Gamling, and get all the followers you need, with other words: all followers. Which leaves your drawdeck filled only with shadow...that is scary.

That's odd, I never read the first part of that cards text, my brain always skipped over it.

I knew something about the horn deck.  My friend built a horn deck, but I don't think he used the first part of the text.  Anyways, since I don't own any horns I never looked into the horn decks, but it sounds cool.

I actually hate erratas, cus' you'll be happy to get some new cards in a booster pack, and then... errata'd card, useless  ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
And there's no possibility to "create" an  [Orc] archer?
If there's not, there's one more thing why to create new cards, though.

I hate erratas with a passion.  I understand why they are issued, but that doesn't change the fact I can't stand them.

Not that I like to bump dead threads, but I was bored one day (about 1 week ago) and logged in hit the who's online button and saw a random guest viewing this thread and decided to see if there was a 'splash' way to deal with horn filter. What about using Grima, Servant of Another Master? Play him use his text to exert Gamling now he can't use the horn. Not only that but now you can use grima's other text to assign him somewhere that will hurt. Granted he is just a splash so he can squeeze into any shadow if you don't wanna deal with all the followers. Perhaps throw in that site that doesn't keeps followers from being transferred as well.

Idea is maybe use [Orc] Lurkers. Granted once you over exert Gambling you will have to finish the job that turn. But if you can swarm with all the twilight added from [Orc] lurkers and gambling can't use the text of the horn to pump everyone it might work. Not to mention [Orc] lurkers is already a powerful shadow and adding a few copies of Grima might not hurt it that much.

Another idea is Grima is a wounding gollum deck. Use Grima (retrieving him with evil-smelling fens as needed) and then kill of companions with They Stole It/Promise Keeping etc.... Can throw that site in that let's you exert a companion twice each time a follower is transferred (in fact throw that site in the lurker deck as well since when they transfer a follower they exert and that means more twilight for Prowling Orc).

Anyway just a few ideas about Grima, Servant of Another Master being a simple splash in a shadow to help combat against 'Horn Filter'. I guess you could also use him replay him with Evil-Smelling Fens (or other means) and run pumps to have him win. Could also throw in Saruman, Servant of the Eye to out exert to ensure Grima gets assigned.

Except that the horn action all happens at site 1 in the fellowship phase, where it is impossible to use Grima.
