That Arwen I'd say 2 - 4 bucks, Boromir is way more difficult. There are two on ebay.com right now, each a little under $80. Found none in the sold listings.

That site has Gates of the Dead City for $9,99, so I don't know how "legit" their prices should be considered.

I've sold several Gates of the Dead City at that price, but I'll admit I haven't sold a copy of that card in a few months at that price.

More legit than unsold eBay listings that are 3x their price?

No, of course not. I just wouldn't base my pricings on their website. I am in the process of trading 0P65 away myself and already told my trading partner that $80 are way too much.

To not hijack Hustler's thread, I'm gonna discuss this further in this one.
Like anything, cards are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

Very true. But this:

My cards on CCG-SINGLES are priced aggressively for sure, and are usually priced much higher than what you could buy any individual card on eBay.

and this:

But most of my customers are people looking to buy in bulk, or complete a deck or collection in
"one stop". It's a different kind of customer who shops for single cards on eBay (where you would have to paying shipping from a dozen different sellers to get the lowest prices on each card) or people who buy/sell/trade on the forums here.

Totally contradicts each other, even with the shipping argument. I buy in bulk as well when I can, and even then I'll pay way, way less for 4 cards + shipping than one card from your shop. Especially when considering cards like Gates of the Dead City.

Btw. aggressive pricing works the other way around.

My goal and my pricing structure has always been that I'd rather have a card priced higher than the average BUT IN-STOCK, than a card that that is priced less than the average, but out of stock.

So, having high prices, selling nothing or rarely and therefor always have it in stock>selling cards at a more frequent rate? Don't think so.

Now, I won't say how you have to run your business, that is entirely up to you. Also, this isn't meant as an offensive post, just my opinion. AND this is a very good example to NOT use your prices as reference.

I guess what would be better to say, is that if you are trying to sell your cards to other members on these forums, then I would never claim that the pricing on my site should be taken for "market value" here.

TLHH is a different market. CCG-Singles is my own little corner of the internet and I keep the site running as hobby.

In the end I've always catered to a different customer than the users here.

No offense taken =)

I just recently got back into collecting this game.   Used to collect back when it came out through the Two Towers block.  Recently been working on getting all foil versions for all of the movie block sets as binder reference and a play set of non foils to build decks :)

I decided not to pursue post movie block cards due to high cost, rarity and how the game changed a little however I just made a massive purchase which I think was a great deal and wanted to know if the purchase was really worth it since I've been out of this game for quite some time.  Basically I bought a complete non foil set of Fellowship through Ages End (minus Expanded and Wraith) for about $450. This is one of each card, not 4x.

Good deal or on par with the market?

I think that's a great deal. Considering you got every single rare in the game even hunters and beyond I think that's a good deal. Even if you were to buy every rare for $1, $450 wouldn't even buy you one of every pre-shadows card. Excellent find in my opinion. I don't know if you got the O cards or not but if you did that makes it an even better find
I think something should go here.

Okay, I just finished sorting the big collection I purchased. Seems that all the cards are there for the sets except for one card from the Rise of Saruman set, 17S35 Soldiers Cache. Odd thing is that included in the Treachery and Deceit set I found another Soldiers Cache card numbered 17U58. That's super weird since there already is a card numbered 17R58 in the set. So this original "S" version of the card was never made and included in the next set? If so, is there no #58 card with a release 18 designation?

The reason for the post is that I will likely be selling all of the sets after Mount Doom. I looked at the current ebay listings and was really surprised to see how much Hunters, Saruman and Treachery is going for (or at least what the asking price is).  The 3 sets I have though are not first edition. What would be a reasonable expectation for the 3 sets since there really isn't any recent sales history to look at.

Tough to say really.  The prices on Ebay are WAY inflated.  There is practically 0 interest in these cards now outside of a few of us collectors here and there.  But you may still fetch a decent price.

The Soldiers Cache was a known misprint (or, just missing) in RoS.  They added it to T&D purposefully to correct the error.

Thanks Fingolfinfinwe! That solves the mystery of the missing card  for me :)

That's a shame to hear that the later sets don't draw that much attention. You would think that the prices would go down based on that instead of the other way around. Not really sure what to price them at then. Guess the best thing to do would probably be just to hold onto them. Maybe in time I might get around to building decks post movie block and get used to the odd site mechanic.

Are Rise of Saruman masterpiece foils seriously worth that much money nowadays? If true, they are basically impossible to collect.
