Saruman, Coldly Still
« on: May 04, 2010, 12:03:27 AM »
Shadow only (40)

Sites:
Anduin Banks (against people that run 8 or 9 uber strong companions)
Crags of Emyn Muil (stop them double moving)
Isengard Ruined (make them pay if they use followers)
Steward's Tomb (use as a site 3 or 6 to block their healing)
Streets of Bree (stop them using followers)
Wold Battlefield (if you're winning, exert to smack Freeps harder)
Doorway to Doom (kill off companions)
+ 2 sides that help your freeps (like Prancing Pony)

2x Countless Companies (12U58)
2x Rapid Reload (15U89)
4x Saruman, Coldly Still (17S48)
1x Throne of Isengard (17R)
3x The Mouth of Sauron, Messenger of Mordor (12S73)
3x Easterling Dispatcher (17U42)
2x Stampeding Savage (17C53)
4x Sunland Guard (17C55)
2x Sunland Scout (17R56)
2x Sunland Trooper (17C59)
2x Ceremonial Armor (17R41)
2x Pavise (11C94)
1x Poleaxe (11S95)
3x Primitive Brand (17U47)
4x Wildman's Oath (17C66)
2x Last Days (12U71)
1x Sauron, Dark Lord of Mordor (13R140)

Basic swarm, except that Saruman with Throne of Isengard helps make the swarm have more strength per minion as well. Use Sunland Scout to discard Freeps conditions, and Last Days to unleash a surprise on them when they kill off/discard your minions. GATS would be nice here, but it wouldn't help the swarm any, so he's not here. Rapid Reload is there to do more or less the same thing he does.

Use Pavise on Mouth of Sauron, Saruman or Sunland Guard to trigger all their nasty effects. Grab lots of possessions. Saruman can draw them from the discard pile, so make sure not to stack all your possessions on Countless Companies. :D

Use a Freeps side that's good at filtering through the deck so that you have all the swarm ingredients in place. Sauron is there to knock a few strong Freeps people off if they're getting haughty. This deck is fairly vulnerable to direct wounding and archery, Ceremonial Armor can prevent some of that, but my suggestion would simply be to use Pavise and discard the vulnerable guys in Manuever if you really need.

What do you guys think?

I think Coldly Still is a bit superfluos in this deck, most FP's dont discard Shadow possessions and you arent really utilising Sarumans first ability to boost strength.

2x Countless Companies (12U58)
2x Driven From the Plains (13C87)
1x Last Days
2x Bold and Cunning (11C71)
3x *Bill Ferny, Agent of Saruman (15R72)
3x *Saruman, Coldly Still (17S48)
3x *The Mouth of Sauron, Messenger of Mordor (12S73)
4x Courageous Easterling (15C75)
3x Mumak Rider (12R74)
2x Vengeful Wild Man (17C63)
2x Beast of War (17U40)
3x Pavise (11C94)
2x War Trident (12C77)

This isnt exactly what I use anymore, but it uses Saruman, CS and Courageous Easterling to get Ferny out fierce, strong and unwounded.

Ah, I forgot to type out all the weapons. I basically had one of each +2 strength weapon, including the one that grants uber strength upon low resistance RBs being present. XD

Wouldn't having only one Last Days make it vulnerable to discard? I guess it's not essential to your Bill Ferny strat....problem is, I don't have that many Bill Fernies. I think I have two, lol. XD

Deck doesnt really require Last Days, it just makes things more juicy.

Ah, I see. What do you think of the deck edit? Just added 3 Primitive Brand. If you think it would still not work could you let me know? Want to make the deck as uber as possible. XD
