So, I Flash Protean Hulk to nab 4 Phyrexian Dreadnoughts, then sac two of them to keep the other two in play. Legal?

Each Phyrexian Dreadnought will trigger their ability, so when the first two resolve, yes, you can sac the other two for them. It’s far easier to just open with, land, mox, Phyrexian Dreadnought, Stifle the ability, though.

Mox are banned in legacy and restricted in vintage, though, so its not easy to mulligan for a mox. Especially since you’d need a Saphire mox for Stifle and another Mox as well as a land for the Dreadnought. And then you only have 1 Dreadnought in play.

When we say "Mox" we simply mean a way of making free mana. Phyrexian Dreadnought is colorless, so your LAND (since you’re playing blue anyway) willmost likely pay for Stifle, meaning ANY Mox will do for the Dreadnought. Also, as I said, it’s just a way of saying "free mana", since "mox" is a short word, so you can replace it with Simian Spirit Guide, Elvish Spirit Guide, Lotus Petal, so on, so forth. And doing it my way, you "only" have a 12/12 beater on turn one, depending on, basically, 2 cards. How bad can that be? And before you argue that Flash/Protean Hulk is ALSO a 2-card combo, Stifle has more uses than Flash and Protean Hulk, making it a more versatile card, meaning fitting 4 into a deck will not be a total waste if the game goes long. And then again, for Flash-Hulk to work the way you want it to, you’d need a 7-card combo, a Flash, a Protean Hulk, and 5 non-Dreadnought cards. Not a single one.
