So what’s the downside to this guy? I see him as being one of the most overpowered companion in the entire game (from my experiences), and very hard to beat.

The downside is that it’s hard to start with him, and he requires a pretty specialized Shadow side to work properly. Otherwise, even with his healing, he runs out of gas pretty quickly. He’s also naff (as lem0n would say) if you plan on double-moving.

I know, it’s not much, but he DOES have weaknesses.
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

doesn’t seem like too much of a downside with his immense healing and with beorning axe... he’s crazy.

Grimmy is actually quite vulnerable. Any archery or Ninja Gollum deck makes his text difficult to use, and you can use Mauhúr and Bill Ferny AoS to let your other minions pick on weaker companions. Thumbs Up
I had to put something here.

You have a turn without a big ass minion in your hand, and Dain is right on the money; he becomes naff. Cant tell you how many times my besieger/beorn deck has lost cos i ran out of/had a bad draw and no gorogorth guys or trolls in hand. A 5 strength guy doesnt do much.

The shadow doesn’t have to be specialized, it just has to have decent strength minions. He hurts the shadow somewhat, by chucking their minions. Other than that, nothing, really.

lem0n...you still haven’t learned that in America, you’d be cussing?
