Possibilities for mixing Shadow cultures in a single deck, with a focus on the Ringwraiths.
--- end description ---

INTRODUCTION
Although Rainbow Decks strategy was very popular since the beginning of LOTR TCG game it applied rather to Light Side with most popular team inlcuding Legolas and Gimli accompanied with Gandalf or Aragorn. Dark Side cultures developed succesful strategies based on one-coloured side and then other methods were most often abandoned. In this article I would like to focus on alternative way in constructing shadow side by using Ringwraiths for help other cultures or vice versa.

Making trouble with Isengard

Isengard culture was constructed from three species: Man,Orc and Uruk Hai each acting differently. Nazgul benefits from burdens, killing companions, winning skirmishes so look at possibilities. First brilliant Tower of Orthanc adding 3 for each fellowship moves spotting exhausted companion – not rare opportunity when using Black Breath or wounding by Ulaire Enquea,Lt of Morgul. Our Nazgul survive little longer with assist of cheap Orcs and Trapped And Alone...plus The Trees are strong and additional wound in regroup..I know maybe it seems difficult to play but..who cares Smile
Uruk-Hai are supposed to be greater treat for fellowship. Again some cheap Uruk-hai together with nazgul and Beyond The Height of Man....deadly combination with our old Enquea especially if opponent wants to go with 6 companions..and it’s maneuver action..imagine how your opponent will look like when you discard him all elven swords and bow before archery fire! Smile

Another brilliant kart is Evil Afoot..but we have to stock in deck Nazgul which add burdens e.g. Witch-King,Lord of the Nazgul ...using these card make your nazgul returning to battle on and on and on...and we cannot forget about News From Mordor which gives additional damage and Too Much Attention – discarding cards from opponent decks are always useful ability.

Nine riders of Sauron

Since the time of FOTR all things have indicated that Sauron and Ringwraiths are designed to act together as well. There are several similarities between these cultures, they get advantage of adding burdens, threats, stacking minions, using initative to increase strenght in skirmishes and archery fire, and especially transfering deadly conditions to fellowship.
When you want to play mixed shadow deck first choice to include in your deck is Morgul Skulker which provides cycling ability...as well as another brilliant card Eye Of Sauron which give additional card draw depending on number of burdes...nice if you cannot get e.g.Ithil Stone...and again thats the place for Twilight Nazgul...Witch-King,Lord of the Nazgul and his twilight fellows can work together with red orcs adding burden very fast thanks to Desperately Defense of The Ring. You can think that these strategy is not immune to condition discarding..but there is always Dead Marches..and discarded conditions are again on table Smile
Have I mentioned twilight minions? Yes..Sauron culture has its own wraiths with “twilight” keyword..Corpse Lights adding strenght to sauron or nazgul..Dead Ones in swarm deck brings additional damage(someting similar to goblin backstabber) and Whisp of Pale Sheen is another way to add burdens. Its unusually low site number (4 when most sauron minions have 6) does twilight minions very accurate to play in early phases of the game. And remember that they are beautifull support for strong minions suddenly appear in regroup phase thanks to Peril or Spied from Above.
There is another strategy not tested by me yet for Wraith/Sauron cooperation based on massive “return companion to hand” but thats the time for another story.

Summary
As you can see there are several possibilities of mixing shadow cultures in one deck. Maybe they are not used in tournaments but they can be nice alternative for players not able to build strong and expensive tournament deck. I suggest every player to try such possibilities and enjoy playing.
