I see. Oh well. I don’t think I’d scrap it, but maybe just a couple creatures to round it out and then move on to something better, like Ninjas.

For the purpose of this DC set, I’m banning Academy Ruins. Very Happy

Not fun! My T2 control deck needs those to beat aggro! Academy Ruins + Bottle Gnomes/Triskelavus is SO mean!

Fine. Do I have to make my own format?

NBarden format

This format includes all sets from Standard, Type 2 as well as this DC set.

Banned Cards- Academy Ruins.
Restricted Cards- None.

There. Now you can keep your Standard deck, but no Academy Ruins in NBarden format.

Can you, yes, but I prefer not...matter of fact, I’d prefer Lorwyn Block.

Finishing off the Sunburst with a few more creatures, and then done.

Servant of the Sun (5)
Artifact Creature- Astral
Modular- Sunburst
Each time Servant of the Sun blocks, add a +1/+1 counter to it.
-2/-2

Astral Slave (X)
Artifact Creature- Astral
Modular- Sunburst
0/0

Solar Channels (10)
Artifact
Suburst.
While Solar Channel’s owner controls this, at the start of each upkeep, gain 1 life for each charge counter on Solar Channel.
While Solar Channel’s owner does not control this, at the start of each upkeep, lose 1 life for each charge counter on Solar Channel.
(2): Target player gains control of Solar Channel.

(Really no clue how to word this, basically, if its controlled by its owner, he gains 1 life for each charge counter, if not controlled by opponent, its a life drain to the same extent to the person controlling it, and either player can bounce this back and forth. Help?)

Up next, ninjas.

No, because only the controller can play the ability.

That’s how I wanted it, anyway.

Owner can hold it to gain life or ship it over so the other person can lose life. Other guy can lose life, or ship it back so the first person gains life.

Here’s some ninja stuff. See if you can guess the theme.

Heikiji, Ninja Master (3)BlueBlack
Legendary Creature - Human Ninja
When Heikiji, Ninja Master comes into play, target opponent takes control of it.
At the start of each upkeep, sacrifice a permanent.
0/1

Ninja Defector
Creature - Human Ninja
Ninjutsu Black
Ninja Defector is Black.
When Ninja Defector is put into a graveyard from play, return it to play under target opponent’s control.
At the start of each upkeep, Ninja Defector deals 1 damage to you.
2/3

(Note: It doesn’t have a mana cost for a reason).

Saboteur BlueBlack
Creature - Human Ninja
When Saboteur comes into play, target opponent takes control of it.
At the start of each upkeep, sacrifice another creature.
3/2

Treacherous Ninja Black
Creature - Human Ninja
Ninjutsu BlackBlack
Whenever Treacherous Ninja deals damage to a player, that player takes control of it.
At the start of each upkeep, pay (2) or sacrifice 2 permanents.
1/3

Here is a tricky one. If you play it right, it can be a constant mana drain (with an alternative sacrificial idea, but not that well). However, make sure you can block it, because its more than ready to attack you. I don’t recommend playing it except with ninjutsu.

Ninja Devastator
Creature - Human Ninja
Suspend BlackBlue- 2
Ninjutsu- Sacrifice 4 lands.
Ninja Devastator is Blue and Black.
Indestructible.
Each time a time counter is about to be removed from Ninja Devastator while it is removed from the game, add a time counter to it or sacrifice an Island or Swamp.
When Ninja Devastator comes into play, target player takes control of it.
At the start of each upkeep, sacrifice a land and Ninja Devastator deals 2 damage to you.
2/1

Okay, takes a lot to get it into play, but once its in play, it becomes an indestructible mayhem machine against your opponent.

Poisoned Weapons BlackBlack
Tribal Enchantment- Ninja Aura
Enchant Ninja.
While enchanted Ninja has an equipment attached to it, it has poisonous 2.

Assassin’s Knife (2)
Tribal Artifact - Ninja Equipment
Equip - (1)BlackBlack
Whenever a creature’s ninjutsu ability is activated, attach Assassin’s Knife to that creature.
Equipped creature has deathtouch and first strike.

There’s a combo if you wanted one. Poisonous 2 on a deathtouch first strike creature. Each time he attacks, 2 poison, else, dead creature. Choose well. While these cards may not look to cool with the current ninjas, some more ninjas will be coming up with a different strategy.

Kenoji, Deathmage (1)BlackBlack
Planeswalker- Kenoji
+1:Target creature deals 1 damage to its controller.
-2: Target player takes control of target creature until the end of that player’s next upkeep.
-8: Each creature controlled by target player has "at the start of each upkeep, this creature deals 2 damage to you" until the end of the game.
