If you’re not going the usual Merry’s Sword rout, I think your choice of Merry is a good one. (Allthough I don’t quite understand what good Merry does this deck if you’re not using Merry’s Sword, or another possession discarding strategy.) I’d rather take out Merry and his stuff completely out of the deck, and rather include more stuff for your Rohan companions.
Same goes for Gandalf and his toys, really. With one single copy of Gandalf, his sword, staff and All Save One, you’ll probably more often than not find yourself in a situation where you have some Gandalf support cards in your hand, but no Gandalf to play them on. Remeber, hand clog is *never* a good thing! If you still want to use this Gandalf, you should add a Rohan companion or two. Since this Gandalf needs to spot 3 companions of the same culture to retain his bonus, you really need some backup Rohan companions if one of the others should die.
Also remember that Thror’s Map has an errata that makes it use quite less effective. |

You only have six companions so I would get rid of Merry and Gandalf and put a Theoden and a Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien for starters.
Also maybe add more Elite Riders and get rid of Heavy Chain.
Make sure to add enough spears and mounts.
I  dont know how to help you with the  side so just have other people comment on that. |

Thank you for your input. But which Theoden and why get rid of Merry and Gandalf  By the way have you seen any other spears besides rider’s spear and and the ROTK Spear? |
