We really play by house rules in my group, no X-list, FotR and TT sites permitted, etc. I guess its most similar to Open format. Its the only way I can run my killer Ulaire Nertea, Messenger of Dol Guldur / Ulaire Enquea, Lieutenant of Morgul / Ulaire Cantea, Black Assassin deck on my brothers army of the dead deck. (complete with the Dimholt). And when his Isildur’s Bane kicks in to stop the threats from killing more companions, Enquea gets downright evil.

Kinda overkill.....

The CRD was updated today. Courtyard Parapet and Madril, Defender of Osgiliath have been added to the Standard format X-list.
All cards do what they say.

I’m surprised that they X-ed Courtyard Parapet, because I haven’t really seen any decks recently that abuse it. Neekerbreekers’ Bog seems more worthy of being X-ed.

I can understand why they X-ed Madril though.

X-listing Madril, Defender of Osgiliath was a good decision IMO. That ranger deck was ridiculous!

I’m not sure I understand Courtyard Parapet either. It’s a good card, even a great card in a corruption deck packing Ulaire Nelya, Third of the Nine Riders, but I wouldn’t consider it overpowered. Perhaps there’s a new card in Rise of Saruman that breaks it, and they had to X one of them. Or maybe Decipher just didn’t want a splashable burden-adding card lying around, since they seem to be moving away from corruption strategies in general.

What an unbalanced game it has become. One set x-ing a major card from the last set... I was sorry to hear about Madril, corsairs beat this deck to the point of no return, as well as any threat removing shadow... I’d wouldn’t rather have IB x-ed though.

Courtyard parapet WAS too broken IMHO. It was very unbalanced using Smeagol and Nelya. I was expecting that. Actually i am surprised it took so long.

why do you think D is x-ing cards only in Standard format recently (for two years, actually) Question
Expanded now gets closer and closer to Open Confused Is it made on purpose to discourage players from other formats than Standard Question

What is your opinion Question

As of Madril, the whole rangers/IB strategy now gets killed Evil or Very Mad It is quite strange, since I do not consider Rangers/IB as the best FP side anyway Think

I agree Courtyard Parapet with strong path manipulation piled up burdens easily but IMO D overreacted a bit Confused

I understand why many of these were X-ed, but I have to confess I’m a bit confused about the following:

Aggression
Galadriel, Lady Redeemed
Mordor Fiend
Final Account
Demoralized
Saruman’s Snows
Sting
Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood
Aragorn, Heir to the White City
The Palantir of Orthanc
Saruman, Keeper of Isengard

Can anyone explain any of those to me? No rush, just whenever someone has the time. Thanks.
