Title: Barliman Butterbur Ally
Post by: Larry5000 on September 20, 2017, 10:24:28 PM
Besides extras copies of him does anybody know of any way to heal him once you exert him. I am not thinking of anyway to heal a Home Site 1 man like you can with Home Site 3. Preferably wanting to use an Gandalf card to do it, but I suppose anything might work.

There's 2 possibilities I know: the [Elven] event Master of Healing (spotting 2 [Elven] allies or Elrond), or the site Mithlond (which can be reused by the classic [Gandalf] site manipulation combo of Traveled Leader and Speak Friend and Enter).

It's a real shame that there isn't a sustainable way to heal [Gandalf] Bree allies once per turn, like Rivendell, Lórien and even Rohan allies do.

Yes it is a shame, thank you Durin's Heir for the help, much appreciated.

One method that I like to use is Kings' Legacy with Isildur. Pretty consistent healing if your opponent can't get rid of it.

Beorning Axe also gives Butterbur extra vitality, so then you can heal him with Mithlond and Kings' Legacy.

EDIT: Another thought: If you use Master of Healing with Witness to History, you can play it over and over again.

Neat ideas, Dictionary! If Elrond WtH bears Banner of Elbereth, you can draw it again to use at Regroup. Alike Isildur + Kings' Legacy, assign weak minions to that healer to assure his victory. One is weak to possession hate, the other to condition hate....

Found another: Brego. And Rohirrim Scout to return it to hand over and over (though unlike Master of Healing, it will be replayed at next turn).

Sadly, Weland only heals "mounted companions", otherwise the healing engine he forms with Leowyn (or Guma + Well Stored) would be useful here.

I am actually glad there is no way to heal Bree men. They werent meant to be used overly much. If such, Albert Dreary would make Moria unplayable and recurring Servants Through Barliman doesnt make the game better either.
