Prolonged Struggle sucks.
I would start Denthor and Merry if you want to run Shadowplay, but with enough possessions and Denethor it might be too much. Instead of Shadowplay put in Unheeded to finish of minions in the Maneuver phase with Merry.
In fact I would drop Gandalf altogether, put in Thorongil and his Bow, Hardy Garrison and Shirrif-#$&*@! Robin for mad cycling and wounding. Another [Gondor] companion to bear possessions for Denethor as well. Home and Hearth is a better burden removal option in my mind. If you want a little extra skirmish wounding throw in Dernhelm's Blade and Surrendered Weapons, discard each time you move and replay with Merry.
