Title: Assassin, the Game
Post by: Incognito on June 02, 2008, 05:20:45 PM
Hello. This is me. Don’t know who I am? Well, let me tell you about myself.

I am a well-known The Last Homely House member. Who, you might ask? Don’t you wish you knew. Look at the username and guess.

But anyway, why the anonymity? Because I am a forum assassin and do not want to be associated with my true identity. And I have decided to kill everyone on this forum, one by one by one.

It is up to you to stop me. That’s right. 5 of you will be selected as police officers. It is your mission to track down who I am and arrest my true identity on the forums.

If you arrest the wrong person, you get a black mark on your record. Two marks, and you’re out of the force.

But how? Follow the forums and look for hints I drop. Those clues should show you who I am.

But anyway, how does this game work? I will assassinate random TLHH members, including the cops, when I see fit. If I kill all 5 cops, I win. But, just knocking off the cops takes the fun out of the game, so the chances of knocking off all five is very slim.

But enough jawing already. The next five people to join will be the cops. No moderators, as they can easily view my IP address and compare, and that unfortunately, takes the fun out of the game.

Post away. The game will start with a shooting after the 5 cops have been selected.

Thus begins the ninth iteration of Incognito. Like existence itself, I never change. I merely...evolve.

The five cops shall have no luck catching me, I fear. Post if you wish to challenge. All posts beyond this--clues.

And watch as members fly and fight
While I stay cooly out of sight
With every kill you see the light

You'll be number one on my wanted list after I graduate from the Police Academy. Oh wait, am I already a full-fledged police officer?

We need just one more officer to find
Before this duplicitous game begins
Is one not left among us with the mind
To chance this game of deception within

For naught have I except my hidden name
And dexterous ability to kill
Members--hide! my cunning promotes my fame
And with each poe'm a clue I hope to fill

However difficult the challenge towers
I pray to thee cops, do not tarry
My first kill shall be in forty-eight hours
Recruit your fifth policeman and be wary

With poems I think I'll greet you no more
Filling out this sonnet was such a chore

Our five cops have arrived
In search of this ruthless sociopath
What deviant plans I have contrived
And evils of incalculable math
As I begin my plan to slay
A user who brings games to all
To upend God within two days
As this one user meets his fall
You have forty-eight hours to decide
Which among you to protect
And see if in my shameless pride
I kill one you did not expect

And decided this one was not worth the trouble

The clue means no clue, which I think means we are clueless.
Meaning we are not prepared to protect who he's going to hit next.

Not much ideas on the little Indians poem.

Two can be sad as one. This means that the death of one, can be as sad as two. There were 2 policemen when he tried to kill someone today. 2 can be as sad as one. He's aiming for a police officer.

Another hit I am depraved;
Another target blissfully saved.
Another kill will come with'n two days;
Another user parting ways.
This riddle will not be easy to crack;
For I am targeting two this round.
You detectives have certainly shown tact;
But soon to users will sleep sound.

Donning murderer's tools I will find
A first target below outlined
I'll end this game for this undefined
Now, two more days to wine and dine

My second target I have made
A careful killer's masquerade
Perhaps the skin so caref'lly flayed?
And the organs all sauteed?
This one may regret having played.

Just one you are allowed to protect;
Will your answers be correct?

If you still wonder my last turn's pick
"Find the Halflings!" on the quick.

Any clues, apart from a love of rhyming, as to who Incog could be?

I'll end this game for this undefined
Now, two more days to wine and dine

Sounds like something from Silence of the Lambs.  Flayed, organs sauteed, wine and dine.

Donning murderer's tools I will find
A first target below outlined
I'll end this game for this undefined
Now, two more days to wine and dine

My first righteous kill
Fantastical as starred skies
Goodbye, Dwarf-master

One of you has accused others falsely of my crime
A black mark on your record at this time
One more and you are out of the game
My next kill will be much more tame

GarrisonofGondor, this poem's for you
Your interference allowed me one kill
With epoxy and a pair of pliers too
I slay you solely for the thrill
I act on impulse alone
My next kill is not decided
Let me think on my own

I am the God of all Water.

Going through the members, I came across Balrog.  It's possible but the B didn't drown, he was smoted by Gandy.  He was smoted good.

The next on my list I will drown
In the ocean's glittery gown
Just one day this time 'til it goes down

It gives me a feeling that this is related to the The Watcher in the Water.

When I saw the words "drown", "glittery" and "ocean", I thought of the watcher in the water and stuff about it.

With "gliterry" referring to the secret door to Moria.

I did a search on The Watcher in the Water and from what I see, he's targeting a Hobbit next.

Huge Tentacle
Foul Tentacle

Dunno if this helps.  :-|

Hmm. I was thinking about it. Hobbits..who hunts the Hobbits? Gollum. Could Smeagollum be the one? :O

No rhyme. No po'em. I've grown...anxious.

My last attempts at a kill were stifled. My current attempt at a kill was...stifled.

I kill all Horsemen: Smeagollum, thonnas7, Fingolfinfinwe, veBu.

I kill all Rangers: Gate Troll, Agent Drake, Anautikus.

And I kill all Neekerbreekers...too many to name, but I suppose some will return from the dead with a few more posts, n'est-ce pas?

A short riddle leading you to my next kill:
I am as cold as death, but ever breathing.
Never thirsty, but ever drinking.
Covered in mail, but never clinking.

Cheers, gentlemen.

Things are sped up. My next targets are going to be big. You cannot protect them all. Better make alliances.

Darkly dreaming, dearly disturbed. I will not kill another cop this turn out of respect.

Let's make it interesting. Three cops, I think I've killed. But in fact, they are all on life support. You have the resources to save one.

To the three cops--you have one week to post here why you should be the one. To our two remaining uniforms, you two pick the survivor. Enjoy.

I don't even understand why incognito is allowed to play the game like this. he disappears for a MONTH, then comes back and says, "i killed all these people, and here, i'm going to kill two of these three cops." seems kind of cheator-ish to me, i dunno.

I tell you though, if I was one of the cops, even one not on their "deathbed", I'd be pretty f'ing pissed off. I think this Incognito ought to have been fired and the game restarted with an active assassin.

I think I want to spice this game up again. Or at least try. I'll be the nexxt Incognito. I know, I know, you must be thinking: "Duh! He just SAID he is the next one!". Yes, I WILL be the next one, and I'll post as Incognito when suitable. However, I'm going to NAME a member of the site (ANY registered member, not only active ones) as Incognito, and give clues to let you guess who he is. I might change the game rules a bit, tweak it to fit this idea better, so I'm wondering if you, guys, who liked this game, would be up for the challenge, and if you think it could work this way.

PS: If you do, I'll prepare the game so main posts are made within schedule.
