Title: Horn is allowed in Austrian (!?!)
Post by: Witchkingx5 on August 12, 2010, 08:42:57 AM
Well, I was unsure about it so I've taken a look at the Austrian Format Banned list and saw:

Erkenbrand's Horn, which means the whole loop is allowed! From my point of view, this is just horrible! It destroys the whole Format. I personally would have enough cards to make such a Deck running, but I don't thinks it's even funny to come up with a Deck like this. Olorin, you have to change something!

Horn is broken, but killable.
Me, I do not vote to forbit it, because everyone out there who likes fun don't run this combo.

I hope the other ones also won't run it, and also, do you know about the "Ultra-Horn" deck? That's really nearly unkillable at all..

The horn isn't the main problem in the loop... but this is the Austrian format, which is #$&*@! anyways.

You're sure about this? For me, Austrian looks a bit like modified Standard, but you can make some nice Decks though with combining Movie with Expanded Middle-earth and Age's End cards. Unfortunately,n oone posts Deck here anymore... think I'll post one later.

not the first time that lurtzy is complaining about something without giving any aguments...
austrian format is absolutely great because on the one hand it allows "old fellas" to play their pre shadow cards and on the other hand younger players can use their standard tactics. moreover you have an enormous card pool because you can seperate both, fellowship and shadow site

New Chapter should be changed to heal a hobbit.

I don't understand why someone would want to play pre-shadow cards vs post-shadow cards unless that person was suicidal and wanted to lose on purpose.

Yeah, true, I'm also more thinking of make use of sets 1-10, 14 and 19. There are some awesome combinations in this format.

Uruks can also cause a lot of trouble, as Standard Decks don't really expect Saruman's power, you could try to play anti in that format and be pretty succesful.

The main reason I haven't given this format a chance is because of it's name.

=)

I like it. Its what we play around here.
Although we don't play with anything from Hunter Block, so basically you can do 1-10 or 4-13.

Still alot of fun.
