Title: Cards giving archer ability
Post by: ghmd on February 01, 2018, 04:54:23 AM
I am looking for cards that give my companions the archer ability permanently (from all sets). Unfortunately, the gempukko search engine does not allow to look for something like that.

Any suggestions?
I bet there aren't that many cards doing that.

Elven Bow and Legolas' Bow for any elf. Aragorn's Bow, Faramir's Bow for their namesakes. Dinendal, Mirkwood Archer for any companion.

There's also Gildor Inglorion, but he's not very practical.

The only base archers are Legolas and Garrison of Gondor, but Haldir, Rúmil and Orophin each have companion versions that can gain archer under certain conditions.

Aragorn WtG is also an Archer in the right deck. And lets face it, he won‘t be played anywhere else besides a Frodo/Aragorn deck.

Ah, thank you!

Follow up question: are there any cards that allow me to search my deck for any (!) weapon / possession?

Per se, no. There are cards however that can work that way. Saved From the Fire and Gamling DotH come to mind, but especially with SFtF, there are heavy costs, and also flooding the pool. Plus, they are culturally enforced.

Denethor, LoMT; Barazinbar; Deagol; Gamling, DotH; Gandalf, Returned. Maybe Long-Stemmed Pipe or similar with some discard gymnastics. As Euk says, it depends somewhat on the culture in question.
