Title: Deagol Fathful Finder
Post by: Larry5000 on July 17, 2017, 06:57:21 PM
I assume like most followers, once in play you can then attach this follower to any companion. I guess from reading tho it seems to make use of his game text you need to discard this card in order to retrieve a possession or artifact if you like, is that correct?

Been wondering about ways to get possessions out of the draw deck easily onto your characters. I wish more characters had the game text like Boromir Proud and Noble Man.

Yes, you do have to discard Deagol. There's even Smeagol, simple stoor to benefit from that fact.
Also, on grabbing possessions, it should be noted that Gamling, doth isn't culturally enforced as long as the possession can be played on him. So stuff like Flaming brand, Coat of Mail, Elven Cloak, and Lembas can be grabbed by him pretty easily. I also once considered the combo of Where Now the Horse? + Eomer, Keeper of Oaths + Gandalf, greyhame, but got distracted by Eomer, Northman getting discarded with about five minions on him. If you are focused on gondor there is two main possibilities I see: Gandalf + SFTF, or Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith + Houses of Healing.

Thank you ever so much for all that useful advice. Never thought about Denethor that could be a good option for sure.
