I’m gonna go start my own research into these questions postposting, but I see little sense in not asking here too!

Let’s say I wanted to take really good screen captures of certain films. What software might one recommend for really clean capture?

And on an entirely different subject, if I had a desire to practice editing card templates or designing new ones, would you recommend I stick with PS, or should I migrate to a better-suited platform?

I can't be of much help here sadly, but you could try asking Enola, who created the Hobbit format (Also has some sets on Gemp!). I don't know whether or not you've seen their thread: http://lotrtcgwiki.com/forums/index.php/topic,9099.0.html

I have access to existing blank templates for almost everything, if you'd like that. Either way, getting in touch with Enola (and perhaps Durin's Heir) is the way to go.
