I am getting back into collecting this game. I've been browsing ebay, does anyone know if this game has a problem with fake cards like MTG does, particularly with more expensive foils like gem foils?

I wouldn't think so since the demand is so low, but I guess you never really know for certain.  You could get cards cut from uncut sheets, but that is a slightly different issue.
