Title: What do you read at the moment?

I don't know about you but I'm into Fantasy worlds so things I've read are books like:

-The Lord of the Rings (who would've thought :P)
-Eragon (If you know it you know my name  :hey: :hey:)

And so one. Currently, I've read the first two parts of

-the Raven's Shadow trilogy (Blood Song and Tower Lord)

and I'm still on the way to finish Game of Thrones, started

-part 4 (GoT)

just now.

I've been on a nonfiction kick lately: 3 highlights
-Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea (profiles of people who lived in the northern mining/agricultural region ~1970s-1990s, leading up to their defections/escapes)
-The New Tsar: The Rise and Reign of Vladimir Putin (exhaustive personal and professional profile)
-The Accidental Superpower: The Next Generation of American Preeminence and the Coming Global Disorder (geo-political analysis of the next century-I don't agree with all of the foundational assumptions, but it's an interesting take to be sure)

Wyrden, if you don't mind my asking: how old were you when you first read Eragon?  I tried to get into it a couple years ago, but it felt too formulaic/cliche.  I know it's insanely popular, but I wonder if I waited too long to read it, so I don't have the nostalgia for reading it "back in the day" to get into it.

I got Eragon when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, so like 8, 9 or 10 years old. Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean but I think it was a good way to get into Fantasy. But come to think of it, if you compare it to other books, it kinda lacks the complexity in the world as well as the complexity in the action.

I've read a lot of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere books lately.

I've read the first four of Brandon Sanderson's Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series, they're honestly some of the best books I've ever read.

About halfway through the first Honor Harrington naval sci-fi novel.
