I was thinking, what if there were characters specifically adept with certain weapons? Some mechanic to represent one's skill with a sword, or bow.
Master - X (Possession Type) - Y (Bonus): While bearing X bearer receives Y.
• [3] Eomer, Spearman [Rohan]
Companion • Man
Strength - 7
Vitality - 3
Signet - Théoden
Master - Hand Weapon - Strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Eomer and spot a hand weapon he is bearing to wound a minion he is skirmishing.
The idea is still half-baked, but I hope to expand on it a bit more, as well as create more mechanics.
• [7] Lurtz, Master Archer [Isengard]
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength - 13
Vitality - 3
Site - 6
Master - Ranged Weapon - Damage +1 and Strength +1.
The bonus would be typically more on minions, seeing as how it's harder to get it.
• [4] Saruman, Deceitful Snake [Isengard]
Minion • Wizard
Strength - 8
Vitality - 4
Site - 4
Game Text: Master - Staff - Lurker.
While Saruman is assigned to a skirmish, all [Isengard] minions with a strength of 8 or less are strength 8, and all other [Isengard] minions with a strength of 11 or less are strength +1.
[3] Horseback Rider [Rohan]
Strength - 6
Vitality - 3
Game Text: Master - Mount and Hand Weapon - Strength +1.
Maneuver: If this companion is bearing a mount and a hand weapon, spot a master minion to exert that minion (limit once per minion).
That's it for now, hope to make more soon. Please share any thoughts you have!

I think it's a neat idea to show how some characters are more proficient with certain possessions than others. In general though, I think keywords should be avoided more often than not. Here it might actually be clearer and take up about the same space to just say "While bearing a Ranged Weapon, Lurtz is strength +1 and damage +1" for example. But just because the cards don't share a keyword doesn't mean they don't share a theme! You can still craft some neat dream cards around the idea without the added layer.
