Title: Skirmish ability
Post by: Ulmo on November 14, 2008, 11:36:43 AM
When playing Desert Soldier, if he gets assigned to Faramir, Son of Denethor, is he able to remove 3 to wound at the start of the skirmish?  Because it is played at the start of the skirmish phase, does it count as a skirmish ability?

I *think* skirmish special abilities are those that read: Skirmish: _______. So Desert Soldier's ability would be fine.

Well he does it in a skirmish so I would say he can't use it.

He can. Faramir prevents skirmish special abilities. A special ability is, by definition, an ability that reads: Phase: _______, like Felipe said. The soldier's text is just game text, so Faramir doesn't prevent it.

  Yes you can

Like FM said skirmish special habilities are labeled Skirmish:

So it´s ok to use his text since it´s not his special hability.

I was thinking that he could use it, but I wasn't 100% sure.  We elected NOT to allow it today so it worked out better for me.
