Hi there!
Though I have just started accumulating FotR-foils, I am already looking forward to the next core set, The Two Towers. It seems like booster displays of that set are still readily available at around $100 a case.
Would you recommend trying to pull a foil set from boosters? Would there actually be some of you interested in trading for TTT cards, since that would be the only set of cards I would be able to trade with?
Anyway, please contact me, if you want to unload your FotR-foils. When I get close to finishing the set, I think I am going to start on the TTT foil set, but first things first.
Cheers!

The ratio of foils in packs is 6:1, and as you get 36 cards per pack, thats 6 foils per box.
So you would need to buy 61 boxes, and receive no duplicates.

Holy ****! That's at least 3 grand. :o

People don't realize how expensive and difficult it is to put together some foil sets.
I'd say FE, TT, HD, & ROTK are pretty hard to build.
You never see them on ebay, and it would cost you a fortune to build from booster boxes.
They are definately not sets to turn a buck with.

Well I know a place where you can 12 TTT boxes for $120, so for $600 you could get 60 and be close...

not even close Jordy - your forgetting only 1 Rare foil per Booster box - 122 Rares per set - 61 boosters without duplicates will only get you half way.

When you could get reflections for like 10 usd per box, then you could be lucky.....

Wait. You guys forget one crucial problem. The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles FOIL was under-printed that makes it uber-rare, perhaps the most valuable card in LotR.
Now factor that into your card purchases. I'd say its not really worth it. Buy the FOIL set from someone.

Hardly the hardest card to come by.
Several Promo cards are much much harder.
