I'm currently hiding in my cubicle typing this and killing time while everyone else is at the Office Christmas Party downstairs. :ninja: I would go, but who wants to go to a party in a small room stuffed full of people as they stand in line that takes about an hour to get to the food, and by the time you get to it it's almost all gone ](*,). I decided to run across the street and buy myself a Meatball Sub from Quizno's.
Anywho...I'm planning on flying down to Mobile Alabama next week for a family reunion (cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.).
What are your plans?
-
Staying home, mostly. I'm just glad it's not my mother's shift at the hospital, so we can have a Christmas Supper.

I hear you about dodging the Christmas party at work. Went to it once. Never again. Boooooooooring, and you have to PAY for that boredom, too!
We're blessed to have all our close family (both sides) within an hour or so driving distance, so we actually spend the morning with one side of the family and the afternoon with the other side. Makes for a crazy day, but at least we get to see everyone. Not sure how the little Dwarfette might affect that this year, though. I suspect it will make for an...interesting day. @-/

going to my grandparents house on christmas day. they live a half hour away, so, cool stuff. all my dad's side of the family has lived in the same town for 800 years...

Yea, pretty much the same thing. Going to my grandparents house for a family reunion with my dad's side of the family, only ours is a five hour drive. But, I'm starting another Redwall book that I can finish during the drive (I'm a slow reader).

This year, i have to work at christmas. I will relax, enjoy the snowy weather, and watch TV too, if there are any beautifull christmas movies.
By the way, why is this called "christmas"?. I have never understood that...
-
because its the celebration of Christ's birth. we have no idea what time of year he was actually born, but he definitely was, and so we celebrate it.
and i used to read redwall ALL the time!
