Title: To Be a Name.
Post by: menace64 on December 16, 2008, 09:43:27 PM: I read a writing-inspiration book a while back that said something along the lines of "you are a writer if you've put a word on the page - you don't need to be published to be a writer."

Since I've actually started writing my book, I've begun referring to myself as "a writer" instead of "an arcade game repairman" or "a college dropout" which has been refreshing, to say the least.

What do you consider yourself? "A student"? "An assassin"? When somebody asks you what you do, what do you say?

...which isn't actually true, given that:
1. I haven't declared a major yet (I'm still in my first year of college)
2. When I do declare a major, I'm gonna be a history major, not english.
