Title: Christmas Loot!
Post by: DáinIronfoot on December 25, 2008, 07:37:06 AM
Yes, I am well aware what Christmas is REALLY about and celebrate it as such: the birth of my Savior. But c'mon, let's be honest here...the morning is about the loot. :hohoho:

So what did YOU get this year?

Rock Band 1 & 2. See, it's actually cheaper to buy 1 with the periphs and then just the game of 2 than 2 with everything, so I lucked out there.

Plus a replica of Ichigo's sword from Bleach (though you probably don't know what I'm talking about...)

Now I'm gonna take my cash and buy myself a present - a couple of LotR boxes!

Lots of stuff. I'll actually get more tomorrow when I go to PA to visit family.
My favorite present is probably my RISK set that I got. I had the LOTR version but it was falling to pieces so I figured I'd ask for another. :hohoho:

Got a new shirt, 2 polos, 2 T-shirts and a black suit. Also got Sun Tzu's The Art of War, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles Book I: Interview With the Vampire. Got a second superhero guitar for PS2, Guitar Hero: World Tour (best playlist I've seen so far, it's amazing), a box of Havana alfajores, a black pen with my name engraved on it in golden letters, a silver chain with a silver dragon pendant (and a silver cross if I want to switch them) and a phone call from one of my best friends before she travels for New Year's, aside from a Special Thanks in her graduation paper that is going to be published by the Federal University of our State (I've also got Special Thanks in 3 other Graduation Papers, but none as special as this one, of course), and my very own hard-cover, "autographed" copy which I'll receive before she submits the final version for publishing. Oh, and a really nice black and blue tie. :D
Overall an awesome christmas, I'd say! Let's see if I can win my second FNM in a row tomorrow, to boot! Not to mention, if I do, I'll have actually won the last 7 FNMs I played.

GPS navigation system for the car.
The best present was my little one crawling for the first time on Christmas eve.  Nothing beats that for me!!

As for me, got some new clothes, an MP3 player (with a bunch of accessories and all the bells and whistles), a couple DVDs and CDs, and lots of gift cards. What I did NOT get was The Return of the King: The Complete Recordings (http://www.lordoftherings-soundtrack.com/), which was at the tippy top of my list. My mother-in-law misunderstood--despite me trying to make it explicitly clear to avoid the confusion I knew could be caused--and instead purchased the regular ol' RotK soundtrack, which I already have. I didn't have the heart to tell her and just said "thank you" instead. :-S

I also did not recieve my other two soundtrack desires: Indiana Jones: The Soundtracks Collection (http://www.amazon.com/Indiana-Jones-Soundtracks-John-Williams/dp/B001G562ZU) and Halo Trilogy: The Complete Original Soundtracks (http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Trilogy-Complete-Original-Soundtracks/dp/B001HEICW6/). In fact, I have gotten only two of the eight items I listed on ChristmasWishlist.com. :'( Granted, I still have yet to recieve presents from my two sisters-in-law and my wife's aunt, but so far, at least, I'm a little disappointed. Everyone bought lots of presents for Jen and little Elaina, and I mostly got a lot of clothes, which is nice, but.... :-S I don't wish they got less, I just wish I got more of what I asked for, ya know?

Ah well. At least I'll be well dressed! :P

Yeah, I tend to get a lot of clothes every Christmas. This year I made the mistake of tacking 'clothes' to the bottom of my wish list. I got almost nothing on my list... except for clothes. I've found when I don't ask for clothing I get clothing and when I do ask for clothing I gets loads of clothing. Oh well...  :-S

Unfortunately its wooden but if you're really interested its a model of the sword from the legend of Zelda its pretty cool looking and I enjoy the game so it was a neat gift.

Oooh a whole bunch o stuff. The biggest was tickets to see Coldplay at Wembley (biggest and best venue in England) in Sept. September seems a long way off but the tickets sold out in like three hours so we had to get them now. So thats really cool cos they're my favourite band. Then I got a whole load o clothes, Dark Knight and There will Be Blood (amazing film by the way if you haven't seen it) on DVD and a couple of books including a really cool one about the 1944-45 stage of the pacific part of World War 2 which is really good read. I haven't read much on the Pacific side of things cos generally I find the European theater to be a bit more interesting but I'm enjoying this book a lot. Oh and my bro got Guitar Hero World Tour which I've had a lot of fun on.

I ended up with a lot of great loot....

Including a massive bag of mint M&Ms, a bunch of altoids, a bunch of Andes mints... (sensing a theme here?)  Dark Knight, $175, spider-man comics on a DVD-rom, et cetera.

Yeah. Pretty fun. And I got my dad season 4 of Stargate Atlantis, which we've been watching, so....

That Crazy!! Our youth group used that name for one of our projects. But I guess I'm not really surprised, like a lot of stuff, faithbook is a pretty easy name to come up with.

I wonder if they are subtly hinting that you have bad breath...? ;)
