Title: Budget Naya (in progress)
Post by: SomeRandomDude on December 31, 2008, 07:05:35 PM
So I'm trying to build a pretty competitive Naya deck for rather cheap. This doesn't mean no rares, but the fewer, the better. I got this.

Jungle Shrine x 3 (have)
Naya Panorama x 4 (have)
Forest x 6 (have)
Plains x 6 (have)
Mountain x 5 (have)

Rip Clan Crasher x 4 (have)
Wild Nacatl x 4 (need 3)
Wooly Thoctar x 4 (need 4)
Drumhunter x 4 (have)
Bull Cerodon x 2 (have)
Qasali Ambusher x 4 (need 2)
Steward of Valeron x 4 (have)

Naya Charm x 4 (need 3)
Oblivion Ring x 4 (have)

(As I acquire, work in 2 Ajani and 2 Sarkhan)

6 more cards....I need something that can put be over the top and crunch them. I'm thinking Sigil Blessing, as it can also help hit the coveted 5 mark. I decided not to pursue the Realm Razer strategy, as it kills synergy with Ambushers and Nacatl.

Now I pack 8 removal, do I need more? I'm thinking maybe Branching Bolt, I have a couple, because right now it seems like I'm running semi-control. And BTW, I'm trying to build this block, actually, so yeah. I have 2 free card slots with nothing, so I'm thinking of dropping the Sigil Blessings in for that and then swapping them out for Sarkhan when he comes in, or swapping out a removal or something for Ajani when I get him (o-ring, probly).

I'd consider some GW beaters, but if I were you, I'd wait for COnflux, some new cool cards coming up, like a 2/2 for GW with pro-black.

Ya...I'm going to build now, then make it even cooler with Conflux.

I'm not too keen on Drumhunter. I think it's not that great as it seems, at least not for constructed play. I'd consider Branching Bolt as another removal.

I've played it online numerous times, though, and I love it.
