So...I built this deck a while ago, and today I was wanting to cut through all the control mind games and play something that just bashed face. And so I dusted off the...uh...file...and gave it a whack. It smashed face hard and fast. So I tweaked it a bit to make it run better in the long games (Ranger of Eos) and have a deck that is bashing face hard and fast.
// Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)
// Lands
23 [10E] Plains (4)
// Creatures
4 [MOR] Preeminent Captain
4 [MOR] Ballyrush Banneret
4 [10E] Field Marshal
4 [LRW] Veteran of the Depths
4 [ALA] Ranger of Eos
4 [LRW] Goldmeadow Stalwart
4 [LRW] Goldmeadow Harrier
// Spells
4 [LRW] Oblivion Ring
3 [LRW] Militia's Pride
2 [EVE] Recumbent Bliss
Preeminent Captain rocks. First game I played with this, I knocked the guy down to 3 life points before he could turn 4 Wrath. But Ranger of Eos/Militia's Pride gives a fast Wrath bounceback.
Second game I smashed face against a BW deck. Between the Sculler and Thoughtseize, took a while longer to smash but still managed to win pretty handily. Second game, he SB in Wispmares and Stillmoon Cav, and with him at 8 life, he stabilized with a pair of Stillmoon Cavaliers. Drew pride, went aggro, bashed down to 4 and lost my 2 Veteran of the Depths. Next turn, Ranger of Eos = pair of Stalwarts, 1 coming off the Captain into 2 more tokens ftw.
So yeah. This deck smashes hard and fast but still makes a convincing Wrath bounceback. I like it a lot. And its cheap enough that I might be able to build it IRL, I already have the 4 Preeminent Captains.

I'd switch Oblivion Ring for Unmake, as it's more versatile. Perhaps leave 1 Ring maindecked (5 removals) and one in the sideboard. Probably pack Pithing Needle in the sideboard as well. Also, I think you should try out Figure of Destiny (kinda blows the budget idea, but at least for online play it's fine), and maybe Knight-Captain of Eos, nice sinergy there. I'd also consider Running Reveillark in the sideboard.

Knight-Captain rocks.
If they're not too up of your curve, some white Lieges could be useful. Deathbringer (with its ability to tap creatures) springs to mind. Or maybe Wilt-Leaf.
What about Mirror Entity? It's a changeling, so it counts as a Soldier.
Anyways, I have 4x Ranger of Eos, if you actually want to do this IRL. :uh-huh:

I'm interested in the Ranger of Eos.
And F_M...yeah. You just blew the budget idea. :P Reveillark and Figure of Destiny? Uh....

Now, now, Reveillark is not that out of budget curve, specially since we'd be talking about sideboard TOPS! I think Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers might be worth looking into, as well as Safehold Elite. And also consider Burrenton Forge-Tender and Kitchen Finks as far as sideboard material goes!

Its $11 at the game shop.

A set?

A copy.

Good God, that's overly expensive! I got my set for about 12 bucks including shipping to Brazil! Well, you could always lose it, then. Loxodon Warhammer is a nice card to consider as well, then. But 'Lark has a really nice synergy with Knight-Captain of Eos.
