Title: Boromir, Doomed heir with Tokens (freeps only)
Post by: sickofpalantirs on January 10, 2009, 01:29:49 PM
Starting Fellowship
Boromir, Doomed Heir
Merry, Loyal Companion
Companions
Faramir, Son of Denethor
Aragorn, Captain of Gondor,
Tradesman From Lebennin
Possessions
Boromir’s Sheild
Athelas
Kingsfoil
Brego, Loyal Steed
Armor
Boromir’s Gauntlets
Gondorian Blade
2x Knights Spear
Sword of Gondor
Blade of Gondor
Bow of Minas Tirith
2x Hobbit Sword
Artifacts
Ring of Barahir
Conditions
Houses of Healing
2x Heirs of Gondor
Steward’s Legacy
2x Garrison of Gondor
2x I will go
Saga of Elendil
Events
2x Guarded City
Last Throw
3x Swordarm of the White Tower

Pretty simple.  Stick stuff on boromir, he owns
Guarded city was too much to resist, and with tradesman of lebbenin, Ring of barahir and houses of healing, boromir should always be good.  Between steward's Legacy and blade of gondor he can knock off 2 minions at once generally.
SotWT is a free +4 strength with I will go,  Last throw is good for 3 player games,  to go 6-9 if someone is ahead of you in move limit.

first of all, I don't have any noble leaders and none are nearby.
any other suggestions would be nice.

(also, how many possessions should I aim to have on Boromir? 6-7-8?))

Uh so far so good borimir becomes a veritable Durin the III. Also you have garrison of Gondor in the condition section you may have meant Garrison of Osgiliath but hey I always catch that kind of stuff everywhere and thus have become a chief editor for a lot of the kids in my speech class LOL.

The problem with expanded is that people get access to Grima Wormtongue. I would be reluctant to gear my Fellowship dudes up like that. Horn of Boromir is also a possession ;) btw. I also guess you don't have access to Faramir from T&D, because he's great with Stewards Legacy.....

someone in my neighborhood has it, but he's not trading ;)
yeah meant osgiliath my bad.
I'm thinking of cutting faramir and a sword of gondor to comply with the rule of 5.  there isn't much rule of 5 hate in my meta, but 4 less cards would be nice

BTW minion side is swarm uruk, I can use it to swarm or try a sie 5 bomb if they double from 3-5.
thankfully just about no one has Grima in my meta, just BtO.  and he's too busy to play most of the time,

hee hee...oops.
generally Frodo hope of the free peoples, or whatever the one that removes threats is.  That way the knights spears can keep working.
generally AtaR for ring.

That, unfortunately, won't work very well since only Aragorn can bear it with another hand weapon.

I've considered flaming brand...but if you think about it all the other possessions ahve alternative purposes, healing, archery, possessions bonuses gone etc. whereas flaming brand would just give a little strength, nice. but not necessary.  I'll play it a few more times, see how it cycles, if it works well, I'll add the brand in.
