Post by: GarrisonofGondor on January 14, 2009, 07:12:28 PM
Alright, now I realize there are alot of deck contest :). But I say, what's one more eh :uh-huh:. Alright, here is how it works.

 • I give you a card or several cards, and you make a deck off of it.

 • I need 7 contestants

 • You will have 1 week to make a deck and PM it to me.

•You will need to vote and not vote for your own

 •  :gp: For the winner of each round.

 • My main goal is to have this contest in constant motion.

 • Hurry and Join

If there's interest, I'd be up for it. I like random deck making. Although NB's deck's will probably blow mine out of the water. Hah.

I am also in principle willing do make random decks. The main obstacle for me is remembering, so if I'm slacking you can feel free to pester me! ;)

 First round =D>

 Deck 1

 Elven Cycling - 30 cards
Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom
Arwen, Royal Maiden
Celeborn, The Wise

Elrond, Witness to History
Legolas, Of the Grey Company
Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor
Glorfindel, Eldarin Lord
Haldir, Warrior Messenger

Celebring, Elven-Smith
Woodhall Elf, Exile

Elven Sword x3
Gwemegil
Arwen's Bow
Nenya, Ring of Adamant x2
Galadriel's Silver Ewer

Into the West x2
Shadow Between x2
Glimpse of Fate
Uncertain Future x2

Fleet-footed x4
Back to the Light x2

This deck has a few tricks:

1) Discard cards from your hand with Elven Sword, Gwemegil, Shadow Between, Arwen's Bow for some nice effects, also nicely triggering Glimpse of Fate. Then put the  cards on top of your draw deck with Elrond or take events into hand on the double move with Celeborn or Gil-galad. Once you've moved, use Arwen's reconciling ability to get a whole load more cards in your hand so that you can discard them again for useful effects.

2) Use the various methods for getting the right cards on top of your draw deck to remove the threats added from Arwen's and Gil-galad's abilities with Into the West (and obviously also Glorfindel).

3) Pair this FP side with a site controlling Shadow (I think Dunlendings because they can play minions from your discard pile) so that Fleet-footed goes straight on top of your draw deck. Alternatively, swap them for Still Needed but Fleet-footed is better if you can pull it off (unless you're running Elladan and Elrohir in which case Still Needed makes more sense anyway).

4) Use Back to the Light to shuffle your draw deck to get those cards you've put at the bottom with Into the West and Uncertain Future back into circulation.

5) Celebring brings out the Ewer and Woodhall Elf allows you to gain and lose initiative and if you happen to have both out, Arwen gets a bonus.

 Deck 2

Name of the deck: the hardcore one's

starting:

Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom + The One Ring, The Ring of Rings
Elladan, Son of Elrond
Elrohir, Son of Elrond

TOTAL: 32
love it. it's all about fighting! this fellowship beats nearly each shadow down!
- add threats to reconcyle
- remove them with glorfindel (play him with prancing pony!!!)
- 2 followers to 1) draw cards, 2) play an artifact from draw deck and 3) use arwens ability
- shuffel your deck with uncertain paths to get cards beneath the draw deck in a "better order"
- discard conditions with LG
- get discarded cards bag with elrond
- a solide starting fellowship
- finally use cirdan as THE BOMB! --> 12 events!!
- healing is possible, too
- small-sized draw deck

 Deck 3

Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom
The One Ring, the ring of rings
*Arwen, Royal Maiden
*Glorfindel, RiW
 Elrond, WoH
 Gil-Galad, EHK
 Celeborn, TW
 Radagast, the brown
 Celebring
 Woodhall Elf
 Galadriels Silver Ewer
 Hadhafang
 Glimps of Fate
 Leaving forever
 Nenya
 Vilya
 Into the West
 Prized Lagan
 Wells of Deep Memory
 Aiglos
 3x Armaments
 3x Still needed
 3x Final Shot
 2X Hope comes
 Lothlorien Guides
 Attunement

Strategy: simple, run as fast as you can!

 Deck 4

 Starting:
Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom w/ The One Ring, The Ring of Doom
 Elrohir, Son of Elrond
 Elladan, Son of Elrond

 Companions:
Arwen, Royal Maiden (Prancing Pony pull.)
Gil-Galad, High King of the Noldor x4
 Gandalf, Manager of Wizards x4

 Possessions/Artifacts:
 Elven Armaments x4
 Hadafang
 Arwen's Dagger
 Glamdring, Foe-Hammer
 Galadriel's Silver Ewer

 Conditions:
 Glimpse of Fate x2
 Into the West x2
 Brooding On Tomorrow

 Followers:
 Celebring, Elven-Smith
 Woodhall Elf

 Events:
 Attunement x4
 Forearmed x4
 Still Needed x4

38 cards. A bit big, but of course Arwen's there for cycling, along with her dagger and the Woodhall Elf. It's basic telepathy/elvents. Arwen + Gil-Galad stack tons of cards in hand for use with Gandalf. Initiative manipulation included. Gandalf sets the deck for Attunement and Forearmed. A couple followers are included for use with Arwen, and Celebring sets out Ewer. Twins shorten twilight, all that drawing should make doubles possible. And, of course, at the end those Still Needed can be abused to remove threats with Into the West. For that matter, so can any card set by Gandy.

 Deck 5

 Frodo And Ring
*The One Ring, The Ring of Rings (11R1)
*Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom (RB)(9R+14)

Sites
 The Angle (12U185)

 (1) Neekerbeekers' Bog (11S249)
 (3) Mount Doom (15R193)
 (3) Old Forest Road (11S251)
 (3) The Prancing Pony (11S256)
(4) Sirannon Ruins (18U138)

 Fellowship (35)
2x *Narsil, Forged by Telchar (17R31)
2x *Nenya, Ring of Adamant (9R20)
 1x *Arwen, Royal Maiden (19P6)
1x *Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg (11R147)
2x *Gil-Galad, High King of the Noldor (18R12)
2x *Isildur, Heir of Elendil (13U71)
 2x *Legolas, Woodland Emissary (11R22)
 1x *Orophin, Silvan Elf (17S11)

 3x Nocked (11U25)

 4x Elven Bow (4U62)

 Shadow (35)
 2x *Ithil Stone (9R+47)
3x *Streaming to the Field (8U78)
 2x *Under Foot (10C52)
 2x Black Marshal (10U53)
3x *Ulaire Cantea, Faster Than Winds (7R211)
1x *Ulaire Enquea, Thrall of the One (10R68)
3x *Ulaire Toldea, Wraith on Wings (7R219)
 3x Desert Sneak (7C135)
 3x Morgul Brute (7R188)
 3x Morgul Destroyer (7U190)
 3x Morgul Lackey (7C193)
 3x Morgul Spearman (7C201)
 4x Morgul Whelp (7U202)

The main purpose of the deck is set up the perfect shadowhand. Fellowship is there to do so. Gamling blows his horn to fetch 2 followers, 1 of them being Celebring, which grabs Silver Ewer. Also, prancing pony to grab Arwen. With 2 followers Arwen does her trick, making minions less strong and she's able to reconcile, which is nice. Isildur is an extra card at the end of your turn, so that is beneficial to your shadow..

 Deck 6

 Starrting:
Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom w/ The One Ring, The Ring of Doom
 Legolas, of the Grey Company
 Rumil, Silvarin Elf

 Fellowship:
Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor
 Glorfindel, Eldarin Lord
 Arwen, Royal Maiden
 4x Sword of the Fallen
 4x Elven Bow
 2x Nenya, Ring of Adament
 4x Double Shot
 4x Many Miles
 4x Break the Charge
 4x Point Blank Range
 Into the West
 4x Elven Marksmanship

Basic strategy is to kill everything in Archery Phase. Gil-galad is to bring back Elven Marksmanship and the events. Glorfindal is there to take away threats. Reconcile with Arwen and remove threats with Into the West. SoTF and Point Blank Range kill anything that makes it through Archery.

Alright, here is how it works. You will need to vote for your favorite 3. Don't vote for your own. E!U has alredy been eliminated so 1 more people will be eliminated this round.
Deck with lowest votes is eliminated.

Members of TLHH are encouraged to vote.
