Hey folks,
x-dAgent (Trek/SW/LotR - Chicago) here, havent played in forever - and since the con I help run is looking for something retro, I am planning on running a Fellowship Block tournament. The only problem is, I can't remember if there was anything BANNED from Fellowship Block tourneys. ex- set 3 Saruman, the Palantir
Do you any of you remember?
thanks!

also, does anyone still play LOTRONLINE ?
-
Hi! Welcome at first...second, there are not much people using LotrO I guess. There are quite some people that are playing via SDA or a new programm. I do not know about the X-list and such, thought that in block nothing was banned.....
-
Hey Mike -
Nope, nothing in Fellowship Block play is banned, x-listed, restricted or anything of the type. The x-list didn't exist until Tower Block.
When/where is the con? I live in Gurnee now and wouldn't mind some f-block. I'd love some sans-hunter block standard too (or even straight up standard), but run what you want and I'll probably be there.

Are you sure Forces of Mordor isnt restricted?
-
Actually, Forces of Mordor is restricted. Look in Lothlorien a Rules, Regulations, and Red Tape.
-
ah, I see. Well, that just goes to show you how much block format I play I guess.
-
I cant seem to find that Rules & Red Tape thing, can someone link me?
So, from what I understand, the crazy combos with the Palantir, Saruman (set3) and such didnt happen until Towers came out?
So, Forces of Mordor would be the only restricted card in the block?
It really would have helped if i never deleted all my old dAgent files & crds...

People were playing with the Palantir in Orc Swarm along with the cheapest orc possibly and pretty much emptying your hand during the swarm. it was quite broken/irritating. I remember Saruman getting banned because of the fierce thing.

The con is next month in Glen Ellyn (www.codcon.com/) I think I will try and run Fellowship block on Sunday @ 11am. If no one shows up, ill have 2 fellowship block decks and 2 Movie Block Decks to play some games with.

hmm?? and what's about, horn of boromir, galadriel, lady of light, thror's map and others?? I still remember that the map's text was errated, 2002 and the galadriel restricted, cause we all played the elven allies with the horn and suddenly most cards of this deck fell apart, so??

See, thats the same thing I was thinking. I swear those cards were banned before Tower's came out.

Would it be worth posting old Decipher articles showing the history of the X/R-List? Eventually they might be lost for good.
-
Yeah where are those?
-
They can be accessed through Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php), a web archiver: fanhq page here (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://decipher.fanhq.com), and dgma page here (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dgma.com). But as a warning, you might have to wait a while for links to work (if they even work).
